Our opportunity
 

The Risk Management team is seeking an actuary to assist in the centralization of the production of the Solvency II capital requirements. The project provides a good opportunity to design a process end-to-end, implement it and execute the process afterwards as business as usual. The objective of the project is to achieve a high degree of automation and functionality to make the process efficient while allowing the required flexibility in the analysis of inputs and results of the capital models.

 

We are looking for a motivated and committed individual with robust technical skills who is eager to learn about Solvency II. The role, although initially focused on the production of the capital requirements, offers the possibility to expand the role to other aspects of risk management.

 
 
Your role
 

Your main responsibilities will be: 

  • Contribute to the calculation and reporting of Solvency II capital requirement for the Zurich Spain General Insurance Entities.
  • Contribute to the preparation of risk assessments for all GI Entities in Spain.
  • Assist in the preparation of internal and external reportings (Risk Committees, ORSA, SFCR, RSR and other reporting requirements)  
 
 

Business Accountabilities

 

Solvency II capital requirement

  • Collect input data used in the calculation the Solvency II capital requirement and perform quality checks.
  • Analyse changes in exposures between reporting periods.
  • Upload input data into the Standard Formula calculation engine and run the models.
  • Analyse the results and perform quality checks.
  • Perform historical analyses of trends.
  • Report the results to the different stakeholders.
 
Risk Assessments
  • Collect input data from the company systems (Datawarehouse).
  • Reconcile the input data against other sources of the company.
  • Data analysis (e.g. Microstrategy, SAS Enterprise Guide, Excel).
 
 

Your Skills and Experience

 

As Actuary in Risk Analyst your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

 
Qualification
  • Fully qualified actuary
Experience
  • 3 to 5 years actuarial experience in pricing, reserving or capital.
  • Experience in Solvency II regulation.  
Languages
  • Advanced level of Spanish and English. 

Software skills:

  • Advanced knowledge of spreadsheet software (Excel).
  • Basic knowledge of statistical tools (e.g. Microstrategy, SAS Enterprise Guide). 

Interpersonal skills:

  • Self-motivation and drive.
  • Professional, enthusiastic and positive attitude.
  • Able to meet deadlines and work under pressure.
