Finance Technician – (P/T, job-share or F/T)

Location: Fareham

The opportunity: 

We are currently recruiting a Finance technician to join our Finance team in Fareham.  This is a role within our Accounting Operations team, who are responsible for the accuracy and data integrity of the monthly financial close.  As a member of the team you will play a vital part in helping the department to achieve its operational objectives and ensure the team delivers a high quality service. 


This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Key Responsibilities: 

The role is part of a team who are focussed on the completion of the monthly close process and delivery of all reporting for Finance. Your responsibilities will include -

  • Supporting the business through premium and commission review and oversight

  • Balance sheet reporting, analysis, reconciliations and control

  • Support and analysis for Group financial reporting

  • Help identify and implement improvement opportunities

  • Assist in defining and building new reports in line with business needs

  • Work closely with the offshore team to embed new processes

  • Ensure tasks performed adhere to the SOX control framework

Your skills and experience:
  • Willingness to study for an accounting qualification

  • Understanding of financial reporting and the close process

  • Experience of working with people at different levels on financial issues




  • Good team player and communication skills

  • Strong organisational skills

  • Ability to provide accurate information within tight timescales

  • Good level of analytical and problem solving skills

  • Commitment to deliver a high quality service

  • Willingness to learn and take ownership
