The opportunity: 
 

An excellent opportunity has arisen within Group Operations - Enterprise Transformation as an Advisory Enterprise Architect to drive and support the shape and adoption of IT architecture within across the grouip. 

 

In this Global role, you will act as the ‘glue’ between Business and IT leaders, evangelising how technologies can meet business needs, supporting Business Units in the transformation of their IT landscapes and providing IT architecture support to digital programs emerging from ZIMS (Zurich Insurance Mobile Solutions).

Key Responsibilities: 

  • Shape and implement activity around Cloud and API adoption across the group.
  • Embed yourself in ZIMS  program teams to ensure practical use of architectural patterns, to accelerate their delivery and achieving better outcomes.

  • Collaborate with other architecture domains at group and country level to develop and harvest reusable patterns and accelerators.

  • Hands on iteration of architecture in support of programs, BUs and functions.

  • Use your technical skills to provide insights and advice on impact, adoption (including finance/cost) of architectures within your subject matter expertise.

  • Work with, inform and influence key stakeholders; IT, business and senior executives related to the architecture themes (with an initial focus on API / Cloud).

  • Understand the application of technologies and support programs in adoption and subsequent business impacts.

  • Be able to explain the reasoning behind different technology decisions and approaches to business and IT stakeholders.

  • Work across architect communities (across  domains), programs and business leaders to deliver effective solutions, aligned to the architecture and meeting business needs

  • Use a variety of techniques to convey an architecture (e.g. prototyping, roadmaps, deep dives, knowledge share).

  • Participate in architectural governance activity such that key decisions are made in tune with Zurich’s architectural patterns and policies


Your skills and experience:
  • Relevant industry experience preferred (P&C, Life).
  • Facilitation and relevant subject matter expertise
  • Pragmatic, hands on architecture – ability to ‘roll sleeves up’ and solve problems.
  • Influencing, challenging and pragmatic decision making backed by technology knowledge.
  • Knows and keep up to date with IT trends
  • Demonstrable subject matter and execution  experience in:
    • PaaS / IaaS use (Azure, Amazon)
    • Application architecture (.Net)
    • Integration architecture incl. API
    • Management Platforms (Azure, Mulesoft)
    • API Policy and Governance (Product Management Practices
    • Agile / DevOps / Digital development skills
  • Proven track record of delivery of a number of technologies, systems and projects.

  • Proven insights across a broad range of  technologies, products and vendors
  • An ability to communicate technical issues to a non-technical audience

  • Excellent communication skills (English). Ability to build relationships across cultures / geographies – remote work is a significant feature of the role

  • Negotiation, facilitation and presentation skills
  • Ability to manage external supplier and consultants
  • Works well within a matrix management structure
