Portfolio Analyst (P/T, job-share or F/T)

Location: London or Fareham
 
The opportunity:
 

The Portfolio Analyst aids the UK Retail SME Underwriting Team by utilising your analytical background to constantly drive improvements to Zurich’s market pricing and underwriting. This will involve the analysis of multiple data sources using various different analytical techniques. The successful candidate will need to ensure first class customer service and that business objectives and company standards are met.


This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.


Key responsibilities:  
  • Support the delivery of portfolio management solutions and monitoring of accounts within their responsibility; through data gathering, analysis and modelling under the supervision of the relevant Portfolio Manager.

  • Regular reporting of key trends on the relevant portfolio.

  • Regular liaison with SME Technical Pricing, SME Market Underwriting, Reserving, Claims and Finance teams in communicating and understanding key portfolio trends

  • Monitoring of portfolio key metrics, trends and market movements.

  • Develop & maintain portfolio analysis systems and incorporate efficiencies or improvements as required

  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture

  • Using targeted pricing proposals to deliver business and underwriting strategy

  • Be aware of market developments, distribution channels and our competitive position in relation to allocated products

  • Support the achievement of plan numbers through rigorous monitoring of KPIs, utilisation of technical knowledge and swift implementation of pricing and product changes

  • Ensure agreed technical standards, controls, practices, procedures are implemented using various monitoring mechanisms in order to continually improve

  • Participation in underwriting audits.

  • Support the evaluation of new data concepts alongside the Predictive Analytics team.

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Highly numerate and analytical

  • Excellent IT Skills – R / Python / VBA / SQL coding experience desirable

  • Professional manner

  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team Worker

  • Ability to manage own work
