Pricing Analyst (P/T, job-share or F/T)

Location: London
The opportunity:

The Pricing Analyst will aid the UK Retail SME Pricing Team by providing actuarial services so as to contribute to the achievement of team objectives and to the provision of a high quality and cost effective service to customers


This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

Key responsibilities:

  • Support the delivery of pricing and portfolio management solutions, for the SME eTraded Portfolios across all LOBs, through data gathering, analysis and modelling under the supervision of a Senior SME Pricing Analyst.

  • Demonstrate increasing knowledge of relevant actuarial disciplines and procedures, including claim trend analysis and predictive modelling, to be able to provide first class service to external and internal customers

  • Regular reporting of key trends on SME portfolios

  • Regular liaison with SME Product Underwriting, SME Market Underwriting, Reserving, Claims and Finance teams in communicating and understanding key portfolio trends

  • Calculation and monitoring of model price assumptions

  • Self-assessment of rate sets and set plan to improve portfolio/quality of rate-setting

  • Develop & maintain actuarial systems and incorporate efficiencies or improvements as required

  • Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture

Your skills and experience:
  • Highly numerate and analytical

  • Actuarial work experience alongside working towards Actuarial qualifications

  • Excellent IT Skills – R / Python / VBA / SQL coding experience desirable

  • Professional manner

  • Enthusiastic, positive attitude

  • Good communication and interpersonal skills

  • Team Worker

  • Ability to manage own work
