As the ‘third line of defence,’ audit carries out independent reviews of Zurich’s risk management, and control and governance frameworks. Auditors provide the Board with assurance that we’re properly managing our risk exposures.

An auditor’s role goes beyond providing assurance. An auditor also makes sure proper control frameworks are in place, assists with the early identification of risks, and helps improve the efficiency of our operations.

We have auditors at all levels in the firm, from regional leads to portfolio managers. This work covers every area of the business; if you want to have a broad impact, this could be the perfect career opportunity.

Underwriters evaluate risks and determine the prices and terms to cover – or underwrite – those risks. They then work with people inside and outside the company to provide the right insurance to the right customer.

Underwriters seek to out-perform markets through superior risk selection and pricing. This means they have to know how to identify well-managed, quality risks that the business can insure profitably.

Zurich has underwriters in every part of our global business. Our insurance lines include: casualty, motor and personal, property, engineering, marine and special lines.

Join our underwriters and you’ll be part of a team that’s as diverse as our products and services.

Joining us

Our application process consists of four easy steps.

Search and apply

To start looking for a specific job, go to the ‘search and apply’ section. A basic search function allows you to explore by keyword or job number. Our advanced search allows you to use filters to look for jobs in more than one job field/business area, or location.

Once you’ve found the job for you, simply click ‘apply.’ If it’s the first time you’ve applied, you’ll need to register and create a new user profile; just fill out all the relevant application fields. It shouldn’t take more than 15 to 25 minutes. We’ll send you a confirmation email to acknowledge receipt of your application.

Top tip. Before you apply, make sure you do your research. Discover as much as you can about Zurich, the job and our business culture.

Application review

Once we’ve received your application, we’ll review it to make sure you meet our essential requirements and contact you as soon as possible. How long this takes will depend on the role and the number of applications we receive. You can view, update and keep track of your application status at any time via your user profile.

Selection process

The next step will usually be a face-to-face or phone interview, or possibly an assessment.

There are a number of ways you can make a strong impression at your interview that go beyond basic things like being punctual and dressing appropriately.

First, make sure you know what interests you most about Zurich and understand the requirements of the role. Secondly, be prepared to reflect on your past performance. We could ask questions about anything from your preferred style of management to the valuable lessons you’ve learned in any previous jobs and how you’ve applied them.

Don’t be afraid to ask for clarification if you don’t understand something. And be clear about what you want. Make sure you get some contact details so you can follow up.

If your application’s successful, we’ll contact you to agree on the terms of your employment and request any additional information. Your new career at Zurich will start with your job-specific onboarding process.

Good luck with your application. We look forward to welcoming you to the Zurich team!
