In 2015 we became the first global insurance business to gain EDGE (Economic Dividends for Gender Equality) certification in six key markets: Germany, Hong Kong, Italy, Spain, Switzerland the UK. Since then a further six countries have certified with EDGE: Australia, Austria, Brazil, Ireland, Japan and Mexico. Zurich is one of only six brands worldwide that have achieved Move Level certification in a country of operation – Switzerland and Austria. This recognizes our ongoing commitment to gender equality and demonstrates our aim to be the insurance industry’s employer of choice.
We have used the insights gained from EDGE to launch FlexWork@Zurich, our global approach to flexible working, empowering employees to work where, when and how they choose, with maximum flexibility and minimum constraints, to optimize their performance. FlexWork is currently active in 23 countries worldwide.
Working with the EDGE Foundation we have also created and implemented an approach to proactively managing pay equity. This approach has been verified by an independent third party who specializes in certifying and auditing. This approach is accessible worldwide.
