RCIS - Business Systems Analyst

RCIS (Rural Community Insurance Services), a division of Zurich North America, is currently hiring a Business Systems Analyst to work for its team out of our Anoka, MN office where the Analyst will be responsible for the Business Systems Analyst will work on projects that support a variety of RCIS proprietary software applications where these highly complex applications provide functionality to support our external and internal customers.

 

The Business Systems Analyst functions first to understand the goal/problem and the scope of the project request, and then to understand the details of the request.  Understanding the details requires the Business Systems Analyst to research RMA documentation, speak to SMEs (Subject Matter Experts) and end-users and research the existing application. 

 

The Analyst will work through the Agile process to give the team direction during iteration, implement demo feedback, and ensure that software is built to the business needs.  The Business Systems Analyst also communicates utilizing many forms, including face-to-face, process diagramming, white-boarding, and requirement documentation.

 

RCIS is a fast-paced culture with firm timelines, so this person must be able to deliver results despite distractions, manage multiple or changing priorities, and be highly organized.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree in Business Administration or Computer Science or Engineering and 5 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area
    OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 7 or more years of experience in the Information Technology area
    AND
  • Process reengineering, e.g., LEAN/Six Sigma, Continuous improvement methodologies
  • Process modeling tools
  • Business Systems Integration

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Must possess strong, in-depth problem-solving and analytical skills with an elevated level of attention to detail
  • Ability to resolve questions/issues for the project team and business group utilizing various methods: researching existing documentation (government and previous requirements), utilize existing applications in development environment, facilitate group sessions
  • Experience managing a workload with multiple initiatives
  • Expertise in facilitating meetings with the customer to demonstrate work effort and elicit requirements, using various communication tools, with both on-site and off-site participants
  • Proficient in documenting complex requirements clearly and thoroughly
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills needed; ability to tailor approach based upon audience and message
  • Ability to understand the project to see the big picture, and help to coordinate and break down the work with the team to meet the goal
  • General knowledge of Agile process highly preferred, with the ability to work with the Product Owner to ensure scope of effort and that business goal is met
  • Crop Insurance business experience
