Transformation Program Leader

RCIS (Rural Community Insurance Services), a division of Zurich North America, is currently seeking a Transformation Program Leader of Crop IT to work out of Zurich’s RCIS location in Anoka, MN, or conversely, remotely from the State of Minnesota and will report to the Head of Crop IT as part of the IT Strategy and Application Development team based out of our North American Headquarters in Schaumburg, IL.

 

The Transformation Program Leader will act as the leader, key influencer, and strategic catalyst for enterprise-wide transformation initiatives leading to organizational, process, and technology improvements.

 

Responsibilities may also include:

  • Leading a diverse functional IT team, setting objectives, reviewing performance, and participating in selection/promotion decisions to ensure the team has the necessary skills and understanding to deliver the team's objectives 

  • Establishing financial Key Performance Indicators and budgets for work unit and (where appropriate) external suppliers, in order to optimize business performance in line with set objectives 

  • Developing, proposing, and leading the implementation of IT initiatives to improve processes, develop policies and generate innovation to maintain regulatory compliance and/or deliver process or product enhancements 

  • Partnering with key stakeholders

  • Contribute to wider IT strategy, adapt, and implement this strategy in own area of responsibility, develop processes and review policies relevant to functional/business discipline in order to ensure they are in line with strategic business objectives 

  • Complete an in-depth diagnosis of customer needs, issues and business drivers and recommend process and system improvements to enhance customer service 

  • Act as a single point of escalation in a functional area of IT to support internal clients and solve the most complex requests and issues, acting within group IT policy and engaging IT colleagues and external suppliers where necessary

  • Leading a large software development team in Agile software development for critical applications that support the business

 

RCIS provides insurance and superior services through leading agents to protect America’s farmers and ranchers. It’s been an innovator in crop insurance since the crop insurance business was privatized by the federal government in 1980.  Today it’s one of the nation’s largest crop insurance providers, offering risk management protection in all 50 states through a national network of about 4,000 professionally trained and licensed agents.

 

Basic Qualifications:

  • Bachelors Degree and 10 or more years of experience in the Project Management area
    AND

  • Experience with Microsoft Office

  • Knowledge of tools, concepts, methodologies, and techniques of business process reengineering, change management, performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, benchmarking, process mapping/simulations, data collection, problem identification

  • Experience at multiple levels in insurance industry

  • Knowledge of existing and emerging technologies and how those technologies can be used to improve insurance business processes

  • Enterprise-wide program experience

  • Knowledge of organizational design and development

  • 3 or more years of people management and development experience

 

Preferred Qualifications:

  • MBA preferred

  • In-depth knowledge of tools, concepts, methodologies, and techniques of business process reengineering, change management

  • Experience with performance metrics and measures, customer assessment, cost/benefit analysis, benchmarking, process mapping/simulations, data collection, problem identification

  • Extensive broad-based knowledge of insurance industry including detailed knowledge of insurance business processes

  • Agile experience and Microsoft Technologies such as .NET, SQL Server, JAVA
