IT Advisory Enterprise Architect


The Opportunity 


The candidate will join Enterprise Data Analytics & Architecture (EDAA) within Group Technology and Operations (GTO) in the role of Enterprise Data Architect and focus on defining sustainable architectures for strategic data solutions and validate alignment with the overall Enterprise Reference Data & Analytics Architecture (ERDAA).


Your role


As a IT Advisory Enterprise Architect your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Provide architectural guidance to solution architects working on (internal) customer engagements to ensure alignment with the overall enterprise data architecture roadmap (ERDAA)
  • Further enhance and adjust the ERDAA and its capability model to streamline the “architecture development phase” for low-to-medium complex problem statements
  • Drive architecture decisions in strategic data initiatives (e.g. Zurich Information Hub) by giving clear guidelines to the individual work streams and ensure alignment with the overall architecture roadmap Internal Relationship


Your Skills and Experience


As a IT Advisory Enterprise Architect your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • University level education, e.g. Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or Engineering Discipline
  • 10+ years of experience in complex solution / enterprise architecture in particular in the (large scale) data processing domain
  • TOGAF certified
  • Technology architecture certifications are a plus (e.g. Azure architecture
  • Detailed knowledge of data integration patterns and best practices
  • First-hand experience working on delivering data architectures in hybrid environments (on-premise / (public) cloud)
  • Deep knowledge of (backend) software development and integration patterns
  • Profound understanding of meta, reference and master data management, their application in real-life use cases and added-value they can provide
  • Hands-on experience working with Azure, in particular focusing on data processing capabilities (e.g. Data Factory, Data Bricks) and different data storage capabilities (file / lake, relational and document databases)
    and / or Intimate knowledge / experience with the SAP environment / software stack (BW, BW4HANA, HANA DB)
  • Ability to decompose complex problem statements into manageable work packages
  • Ability to clearly articulate complex matters (both verbally and in writing) in an easy-to-understandable fashion targeted at the specific audience
  • High proficiency in English (verbal and written), German desirable
