JAVA Engineer with TIBCO EBX MDM

Our opportunity

We are seeking an JAVA Engineer to join our Enterprise Data Analytics & Architecture organization within Group Technology and Operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible to ensure that the application runs successfully in a robust and scalable manner, applying new functionality, enhancements and releases while ensuring the existing functionality is not compromised.  You’ll proactively manage new changes with business partners and effectively address incidents related to application issues and drive service improvement.

 

You has able to deal with incidents and requests on priority during critical finance close periods.

 

And also, to establish yourself as the subject matter expert for the defined application portfolio and support the team.
 

Your role

 

As a JAVA Engineer, your main responsibilities will involve:

 

  • Understand customers’ processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the function or business unit.
  • Engage with the solution architect in the reviews and validation of the detailed technical design for business applications provided by the supplier to ensure alignment with business requirements; validate suppliers estimates.
  • Estimate Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality.
  • Perform quality review checks on project deliverables.
  • Support and review the documentation of functional specifications.
  • Make recommendations for application performance improvements.
  • Act as liaison between the Business and IT, as assigned.
  • Support the Service Manager in building the Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high level plan.
  • Support the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues and providing training as required.
  • Perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system.
  • Support the Operational and Maintenance activities in the scope

 

Your Skills and Experience

 

 Your skills and experience will ideally include:

  • University level education or equivalent
  • Over 5-8 relevant years of experience in JAVA area
  • Solid Subject Matter Expert experience in JAVA, Spring, Hibernate, JPA, Angular npm, Eclipse, GIT, Source tree
  • Knowledge and experience on working in TIBCO EBX MDM (Master Data Management) solution will be very valuable.
  • Some Knowledge in HTML5 and Java script, SAP Analytic Cloud and Platform (SAC/SCP) will be appreciate
  • Prior experience working in a financial services environment desirable, preferably insurance
  • Effective communication, presentation skills.
  • Process oriented like Incident Management and Change Management
  • Atlassian tooling: JIRA, bamboo, bitbucket (DevOps) and SNOW tool
  • Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity
  • Fluent in English (spoken and written). Further languages preferred   

 

Additional Information

 

Work location is Spain, Barcelona with occasional travel depending on the nature and level of involvement in respective projects.
