The IAA Governance and Operational Risk Manager is responsible to support and oversee the operation and maintenance of the internal control framework and guidelines for IAA, Investment Administration and Accounting department, to ensure effective operational risk management across our globally positioned Investment Management back office.

 

This includes promotion of a risk awareness culture and providing the stakeholders with means to allow for reliable assurance, reporting and operational processes as well as

demonstrating strong value and client-focused mindset.  

 

Your role

 

As an IAA Governance and Operational Risk Manager your main responsibilities will involve working in partnership with Group Investment Management Assurance Function, Group Risk and IAA management, process owners and third parties to ensure:

  • Maintenance and continuous improvement review of IAA processes and controls documentation in compliance with Zurich and industry ICFR standards as well as IAA internal guidelines
  • Management of the IAA operational risk & control framework including management attestation of effectiveness, incident and Operational Event Management
  • Coordination of audit related activities for both Zurich internal but also external audit reviews
  • Coordination of monitoring of the team’s compliance with internal policies and with external regulations
  • Support effective Business Resilience Management 
  • Support of operational risk assessments outside of ICFR framework

Your Skills and Experience

 

Your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Professional qualifications and/or prior working experience in accounting, finance, investment management or audit
  • Experience with the maintenance of risk and controls frameworks or SOX audit would be a distinct advantage
  • Ability to resolve conflicts, work with diverse cultures collaboratively, manage stakeholder sensitivities
  • Ability to see the bigger picture, think creatively to provide alternative solutions, meet deadlines
  • Experience with continuous improvement frameworks and techniques would be of an advantage
  • Excellent communication skills in both written and verbal format in English, additional company languages (Spanish) would be an asset
