Our opportunity

A Performance Testing Technical Lead is responsible for delivering and managing performance test and quality activities for wide range of international projects/programs, ensuring those are carried out to the agreed requirements, complying with Audit and Regulatory standards. You will support internal initiative,  play the role of Technical Authority across all Projects Portfolio, and advise IT and business on best application performance practices that protect Zurich’s best interests. Also, you will manage those Projects/ Programs specially complex from technical perspective and will be responsible for the maintenance, integration and expansion of Load Injection and Application Monitoring Infrastructure capacities

Your role

As Performance Testing Technical Lead you will be accountable for end-to-end delivery of your assigned projects and for the technical guidance and support to all Projects Portfolio, to guarantee Service Delivery’s technical excellence. Your main responsibilities will involve:

  • Lead Technical Direction of Performance Testing Solutions applied to all the projects assigned
  • Accountable for all Technical Proofs of Concept to confirm Performance Testing’s technical feasibility before Projects are started
  • Analyze Load & Performance Test requirements from internal customers
  • Prepare Performance Test Service Proposal to cover customers’ requirements
  • Define Performance Test Strategy and Test Plan
  • Manage Performance testing delivery on the assigned Projects
  • Work closely with Performance test team to understand and resolve any concerns before they escalate into issues.
  • Manage key stakeholders, and act as a trusted advisor
  • Review and approve all major testing deliverables
  • Analyze Infrastructure metrics / logs to detect Bottlenecks and scalability issues
  • Ensure that standard processes and deliverables are followed and that any deviations are managed, and the risks and potential outcome of those risks communicated and accepted
  • Work with other Test Managers to ensure Load & Performance needs are properly identified, designed, scheduled and budgeted in their projects
  • Accountable for Load Injection Infrastructure Set-up, Maintenance, Upgrading and Improvement Plan (Hardware, Load Injection Tools, licensing) to ensure its efficiency and scalability to provide best service to all customers
  • Accountable for Load Injection Infrastructure’s Integration with most common Application Performance Monitoring and Observability tools used by customers on Cloud / On-Prem infrastructure, to provide consolidated results overview from User Interface and Infrastructure perspectives
  • Prepare staffing plans, which may include staff working both on site and remotely
  • Manage customer and vendor relationships
  • Foster Load & Performance Testing Service and actively participate in Service Strategy Definition, Innovation and Business development. And participate actively in Zurich Group initiatives

Your Skills and Experience

As a Performance Test Manager your skills and qualifications will ideally include:

  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) in Information Technology and 5 or more years of experience in related field such a Load and Performance, Application Performance Management or similar
  • Experience of quality and testing technology.
  • Experience in leading high technological and multicultural skilled teams, based in nearshore / offshore
  • Must have leadership experience providing Performance testing services for multiple business units, applications and protocols
  • Strong Analytical skills: Infrastructure Monitoring Diagnostics and Bottleneck Identification
  • ITSQB Quality and Test Manager or similar
  • Knowledge of databases, middleware, web services and related standards
  • Positive attitude, strong communication (verbal and written) & interpersonal skills
  • Team player and able to create and work in a collaborative environment
  • Ability to influence stakeholders across all levels, including teams outside of shared services and solutions
  • Act as a trusted advisor for the customer by having a holistic view of the different alternatives that would provide a solution to the customer/s
  • High experience to discuss technical topics in business terms, including but not limited to give presentations to an audience with different level of technological maturity
  • Ability to think outside of the box and be innovative by keeping abreast of new trends, identifying opportunities to bring in change for business benefit
  • Fluent written and spoken English (additionally, German would be highly valuable)
  • Global, critical, innovative thinking with good presentation skills


Needs strong knowledge of QA & Performance Testing Practices. Understanding of quality management and development methodologies (SDLC) is highly valuated


  • MicroFocus LoadRunner Enterprise (must)
  • Application Performance Monitoring tools in On-Prem and Cloud infrastructure (Dynatrace, Splunk, App Insights, CloudWatch) (must)
  • Analytics Data Visualization applications (Grafana, Kibana) (must)
  • Other Load Injection tools: JMeter, Gatling, NeoLoad, IBM Rational (nice-to-have)
  • Experience with CI/CD tools: Bamboo, Azure DevOps or Jenkins (must)
  • Agile Tools (TFS, JIRA) (nice-to-have)
  • Knowledge in some programing languages (C, Java, Javascript, Python) (nice-to-have)
