SAP BI Expert Engineer

Our opportunity  
 
We are seeking an SAP Business Warehouse (BW & BW4/HANA), SAP Analytic Cloud (SAC), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP BTP HANA DB Engineer to join our Business Technology Operations organization within Group Technology and Operations. In this role, you’ll be responsible to ensure that the application runs successfully in a robust and scalable manner, applying new functionality, enhancements and releases while ensuring the existing functionality is not compromised.  You’ll proactively manage new changes with business partners and effectively address incidents related to application issues and drive service improvement. You has able to deal with incidents and requests on priority during critical finance close periods.  

And also, to establish yourself as the subject matter expert for the defined application portfolio and support the team. 
 

Your role  

As a SAP BI Engineer/expert (BW & BW4/HANA, SAP Analytic Cloud (SAC), SAP Business Technology Platform (BTP) and SAP BTP HANA DB/XS), your main responsibilities will involve: 

• Understand customers’ processes and products and how they fit within the goals of the function or business unit. 
• Detailed technical analysis, assessment and design for business applications in scope to ensure alignment with business requirements 
• Estimate Rough Order of Magnitude for the level of effort/cost of new application functionality. 
• Perform quality review checks on project deliverables. 
• Support and review the documentation of functional specifications. 
• Make recommendations for application performance improvements. 
• Act as liaison between the Business and IT, as assigned.  
• Support the Service Manager in building the Business Case, including cost / benefit analysis, risk assessment, project scope, and development of a high- level plan.  
• Support the implementation activities, troubleshooting system environmental issues and providing training as required. 
• Perform impact analysis of application changes across various components, holding an end-to-end view of the system.  
• Support the Operational and Maintenance activities in the scope. 

Your Skills and Experience  

 Your skills and experience will ideally include: 

• University level education or equivalent 
• Over 5 relevant years of experience in BI 
• Solid Subject Matter Expert experience in Business Warehouse topics, related to SAP BW, BW4HANA, SAC Reporting, BTP HANA DB/XS in financial modules. 
• Some knowledge in SAP SAC Planning, SAP Datasphere and Databricks will be appreciated. 
• Prior experience working in a financial services environment desirable, preferably insurance. 
• Effective communication, presentation skills. 
• Ability to work effectively in a global organization, under time pressure and to manage ambiguity. 
• Proactive and team player. 
• Fluent in English (spoken and written). Further languages preferred.
