Senior Azure-PowerBI Technical Consultant

Join a multidisciplinary team with an ambitious goal: to ensure successful implementation of business requirements to global systems / platforms that support Commercial Insurance – Zurich Resilience Solutions - Risk Engineering in the service delivery to business partners and Zurich customers.


The Senior Azure-PowerBI Technical Consultant contributes to the delivery of the content, issues, and risks of individual development projects or work streams and dependencies with other work streams. Includes project office support (project schedule, budget, scope, and deliverables). Undertakes software development work, typically requiring a deep knowledge of working practices and some business processes acumen. Provides technical advice and guidance to support the specification and development of software solutions.



Your role


As a Senior Azure-PowerBI Technical Consultant your main responsibilities will involve:


  • Design, enhance and maintain the Datawarehouse - a centralized repository of integrated data from various data sources and required components such as ETL processes, reports and dashboards
  • Design, develop and manage end-to-end ETL processes utilizing tools such as MS SQL Server Integration Services (SSIS), SSAS or others
  • Utilize MS PowerBI and Report Server in designing and building reports / dashboards
  • Design, build and maintain business DataMart’s / datasets to visualize measures, KPIs in dashboards to empower data analytic capability across functional teams for Life Business
  • Study and understand the Company's business processes and applications, including their effect on data and reporting, and applies the knowledge gained in designing datasets, reports, and dashboards
  • Identify and document requirements for DWH components, dashboards, and reports by working with IT and SMEs
  • Prepare test plan, test cases / scripts, perform testing and user training
  • Assemble performance statistics, analyzes them, and make recommendations for continuous improvements
  • Create and maintain data dictionary and other related documentation



Your Skills and Experience


As a Senior Azure-PowerBI Technical Consultant your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


  • Bachelor’s degree with minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Business/Requirement Analysis, Data Transformation & Visualization, preferably in insurance industry
  • Knowledge of insurance products, operations, policy admin system would be an advantage
  • Sound knowledge of data-mapping, ETL process, data-modeling and reporting / dashboarding
  • Familiar with Microsoft Azure, Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, SSAS, PowerBI, Google Analytics
  • Able to articulate business processes / requirements to all levels with good analytical, problem solving and communication skills
  • Strong developer skills (e.g., analytical skills, quality management, application design-architecture, application development tools, application landscape knowledge, application testing, programming, and IT architecture, etc.)
  • Hands On Knowledge on Azure Components configuration and Deployments (Azure ADF, App Service, Security Model, BLOB Storage, SQl Server, Azure Networking)
  • Web API /.Net/C #
  • Web resources (Java script / HTML/CSS/Angular JS)
  • SSIS Jobs
  • Power BI Development/Deployment & Configuration
  • Experience working in Agile methodology (Scrum, Kanban) and tooling (Azure DevOps, Jira)
  • High degree of customer focus & end-to-end solution delivery attitude
  • Highly organized with good attention to detail
  • Team player who is skilled at building up and managing stakeholder (client internally focused) relationships
  • Proven ability to work in a multi-cultural environment
  • Good self-management skills and stress resilience
  • Good communication skills in written and spoken English. Spanish and German language skills are a plus
