Frontend Developer


Our opportunity


Zurich is currently searching for a Senior Front End Developer. This position will be part of a Zurich Web Platform team and will be responsible for focusing on developing, defining, configuring, supporting, and auditing applications.



Your role


As a Senior Frontend Developer your main responsibilities will involve:


  • Developing and maintaining Zurich websites and SDKs using modern JavaScript, SaSS and HTML.
  • Working closely with designers and Backend engineers to develop new custom components.
  • Fully responsive web development.
  • Git version control, cleaning and refactoring existing code, managing pull request.
  • Maintaining CI & CD pipelines within Azure DevOps.



Your Skills and Experience


As a Senior Frontend Developer your skills and qualifications will ideally include:


You must have at least a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field. Additionally, you have a strong desire to learn the key technologies we use and ideally have solid know-how in at least one of them:


  • Foundation in software engineering principles including object-oriented programming, design patterns, and SOLID.
  • Experience consulting for clients and stakeholders.
  • Proficient understanding of web markup, including HTML5, CSS3.
  • Basic understanding of client-side CSS pre-processing platforms, such as LESS and SASS.
  • Proficient understanding of client-side scripting and JavaScript frameworks, including jQuery.
  • Good understanding of advanced JavaScript libraries and frameworks, such as Bootstrap.
  • Good understanding of asynchronous request handling, partial page updates, and AJAX.
  • Strong knowledge of software development best practices, including coding standards, code reviews, source control management, automated testing and deployment processes.
  • Knowledge of DevOps, and continuous integration-continuous delivery.
  • Experience working with a common web CMS (e.g. Sitecore, Wordpress, Magento), is a plus.

Primary work location is Barcelona, Spain. Option to telework from any location within Spain territory is also feasible.
