Claims Handler (Part-time, Job-share, Full-time)
Location: Ideally you will be based within a commutable distance to either our Fareham or Birmingham office

The opportunity:
Our Claims function is the largest department in our UK General Insurance business, and it plays a critical role in ensuring customers receive an efficient, professional, and empathetic service.
You’ll be part of a dynamic and supportive team that handles a wide range of claims with a broad customer base. If variety and challenge is what you are looking for then we want to hear from you!

What will you be doing?
- Promptly handle and positively resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focused claims service
- Review, resolve and proactively finalise claims within authority limits ensuring settlement at an optimum level with consideration to business implications
- Maximise productivity and profitability within the team
- Contribute to a positive and supportive team culture
Who are we looking for?
Ideally, we would like you to have some of the following:
- Ability to deliver excellent customer service
- Experience of working within a team and coping with varying workloads and pressures
- Strong communication skills
- Effective negotiation skills
- Ability to coach; motivate & develop where appropriate
- Numeracy and literacy skills (to GCSE level/equivalent).
- Knowledge of MS Office packages
- Relevant experience of working either in general insurance or progressing towards CII qualification
- We deal with a wide range of claim types (Construction, Engineering and Marine) so any experience in any of these areas or desire to improve your technical claims handling skills would be beneficial but not essential
