Our opportunity
Analyst of Economic Assumptions #LI-Hybrid
In this role, you will join a team of actuarial analysts in Bratislava supporting the internal model calculations with respect to the life insurance business of the Zurich Group. You will be involved in centralized production of economic assumptions, prepare reports for senior management and you will be developing new features to our python code base. This role is an ideal opportunity to participate on various aspects of production of key economic assumptions for the group: the risk-free yield curves and risk-neutral stochastic scenarios.
Your role
As an Analyst of Economic Assumptions, your main responsibilities will include:
- Participate on regular monthly and quarterly direct production of economic assumptions using Apache Airflow orchestrator empowered with python repositories.
- Processing market data (LSEG, Bloomberg, Moody’s, etc). Direct data validation on Bloomberg terminal (approximately once a month).
- Produce ad-hoc analyses and reports based on requirements clarified with more senior team members in Bratislava/Zurich.
- Interact with a wide range of stakeholders across the whole Zurich Group and occasionally even externally with third parties.
- Support theoretical methodology developments and investigations on alternative proxy modelling techniques (SII EIOPA, IFRS17, PRA, FINMA) and calibration approaches (LMM+, 2FV, etc.).
- Maintain and develop actuarial solutions reflecting business need - translating stakeholders requests into practical solutions (Includes technologies, not limited to: Airflow, Python, Excel, Jupyter Notebooks, Moody’s licensed software).
- Code development on Azure DevOps with CI/CD culture.
Your Skills and Experience
As an Analyst of Economic Assumptions, your skills and experience will ideally include:
- Master’s degree in quantitative finance, mathematics or similar
- Experience with data wrangling (Python, Excel / other programming experience like R, MATLAB, MAPLE also acceptable but willingness to work in python is a hard requirement)
- Excellent English communication skills (verbal and written)
- Responsible and organized character for accurate and timely reporting delivery
- Willingness of possible trips to Zurich (~5% per year)
- Position is relevant also for fresh graduates / people looking for job during their last year of master studies

- Location(s): Bratislava
- Hybrid working: It would be nice to meet you in the office 2-3 times a week, if you live close by. We are also open to hear your preference to work from home more often
