We are accelerating our data science transformation with the development of strategic applications that will support Business Unit, Regional and Global Pricing activities, while supporting stakeholders around the globe in the development of their own data science products. Your role

As a Data Science Specialist, your main responsibilities will involve: 

• Capturing business requirements, understanding business problems, structuring analytical approaches to solve them, and designing adequate solutions.
• Maintaining a close relationship with pricing actuaries, data & analytics teams and partner countries to establish and maintain pricing analytical solutions leveraging a central data science environment. 
• Supporting and overseeing the coding quality work of colleagues in different countries and regions.
• Reviewing and driving improvement of existing and new analytical tools, packages and applications across commercial insurance and retail markets 
• Integrating real time data into applications via APIs to build robust data management solutions for dashboards.
• Following test driven development, and ensuring automated regression tests are in place.
• Ensuring maintenance of technical documentation and development of guidance and training materials for the community.
• Resolving user issues within existing solutions to maintain and improve customer satisfaction.
• Collaborating with IT to ensure customer issues are resolved efficiently, promptly and infrastructure is fit for purpose.
• Keeping up to date with latest developments in the data science area and suggesting improvements to our way of working.
• Driving the direction of the data science transformation and ensuring the right tools are being used, right infrastructure is in place and adequate solutions are being developed.

Your Skills and Experience

As Data Science Specialist, your skills and experience will ideally include: 

• University education (Master's degree) in Financial Mathematics, Data Science, Actuarial Science, Statistics, Quantitative methods, Computer Science or similar 
• 5+ year of experience in data science using R or Python
• Strong communication skills
• Knowledge of both R and Python is an advantage
• Experience in insurance industry is an advantage 
• Fluency in English 
• Knowledge of Data Bricks, SQL and API frameworks is an advantage.
