Assistant Market Underwriter (Part-Time, Job-Share, Full-Time)

We are currently expanding the team and are looking for an individual to join and support the continued growth and development of the Navigators & General Schemes Underwriting Team. We are looking for an Assistant Market Underwriter to come and join us in Brighton and this could be you!

 

Working in our N&G Schemes Team, you will provide administrative and analytical support in terms of the business underwritten via our Delegated Authorities. You will interact with our Brokers and internal stakeholders and work as part of a diverse team in a fast-paced environment.

Key responsibilities:

  • Build and manage relationships with Brokers in support of the running of the Delegated Authorities including the management of monthly bordereau debits.
  • Ensure that all appropriate data is received from Brokers in a timely fashion including monthly bordereau and conduct risk MI.
  • Processing of system debits to ensure accurate reporting of premiums.
  • Handling internal and external queries relating to the bordereau process.
  • Analysing risk and performance data and providing appropriate reporting for internal and external stakeholders.
  • Ensuring appropriate processes are running as designed and ensuring the Schemes team are aligned with the internal control framework.  
  • Interrogating internal databases for appropriate internal reports. 
  • Be an active team member of a N&G Underwriting environment.

 

Your skills and experience:

  • Excellent communication & numeracy skills.
  • Analysing data sets and ability to formulate appropriate commentary for a wide range and level of stakeholders.
  • Basic knowledge of the insurance industry/Financial Services and the legal and regulatory environment is preferable but not essential.
  • A solutions and service orientation.
  • Team player.
  • Strong skills in relationship building, active listening, needs analysis and win-win negotiating.
