Senior Manager - SAP Applications

Zurich North America is currently hiring an Sr SAP Application Manager and this person will work in a hybrid schedule at our Schaumburg, IL North America HQ.

 

Responsibilities:

 

  • Strategic Planning: Create strategic plans for implementing SAP projects that are aligned with the company's business goals and objectives.
  • SAP Project Management: Oversee and coordinate the implementation of SAP systems, ensuring that they fulfill the demands of the business while maintaining on schedule while staying within budget.
  • Team Leadership: Lead a team of SAP specialists, offering leadership, training, and mentoring to achieve high performance.
  • Vendor Management: Establish relationships with SAP vendors, consultants, and solution providers to ensure the firm obtains the most value.
  • Collaboration: partner with other IT and business leaders to ensure SAP solutions are integrated with other systems and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a in-deep understanding of SAP applications, technologies, and trends, and apply this expertise to the benefit of the business.
  • Risk Management: Identify and address risks associated with SAP implementations.
  • Budgeting: Collaboration: partner with other IT and business leaders to ensure SAP solutions are integrated with other systems and meet the needs of the organization.
  • Technical Expertise: Maintain a deep understanding of SAP applications, technologies, and trends, and apply this knowledge to the benefit of the business.
  • Risk Management: Identify and mitigate risks associated with SAP implementations.
  • Budgeting: Manage the budget for SAP projects, ensuring cost-effectiveness.
  • Compliance: Ensure that all SAP systems and processes conform with applicable laws, regulations, and standards.
  • Troubleshooting: Serve as a senior point of contact for resolving difficult SAP issues.

Basic Qualifications:

 

  • Bachelors Degree and 8 or more years of experience in the Data Management area OR
  • High School Diploma or Equivalent and 10 or more years of experience in the Data Management area AND
  • 3 or more years of people management experience in a technical environment
  • Experience with SQL, SAS, Erwin, Data Quality Tools or ETL technologies
     

Preferred Qualifications:

 

  • Master's degree in computer science, information systems, or a related discipline.
  • Minimum of 8 years SAP working experience in S4 HANA platform with a heavy focus on insurance solutions
  • 5 years of experience on large, transformational initiatives in a fast paced, complex environment and Minimum of 5 years of management responsibility.
  • Strong people management skills to manage a team of SAP professionals, providing guidance, training, and mentorship to ensure high performance and quality deliverables.
  • Extensive experience with SAP, including implementation, management, and troubleshooting preferably in FI-CO, FS-CD, FS-RI and BPC modules.
  • Strong leadership skills, with a proven ability to manage teams effectively.
  • Excellent project management skills, including a track record of completing projects on schedule and under budget.
  • Strong understanding of the business processes in the insurance industry including Finance, Reinsurance, Collect and Disbursement business areas.
  • Excellent communication abilities, including the ability to convey difficult technical topics to nontechnical stakeholders.
  • Relevant SAP certifications would be a plus. Please note that the exact responsibilities and qualifications may vary depending on the specific needs of the company.
  • Manages work effort and resource allocation for support, initiatives, and enhancements.

 

At Zurich, compensation for roles is influenced by a variety of factors, including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set, and level of experience. Additional rewards may encompass short-term incentive bonuses and merit increases. We encourage candidates with salary expectations beyond the provided range to apply, as they will be considered based on their experience, skills, and education. The salary indicated represents a nationwide market range and has not been adjusted for geographic differentials pertaining to the location where the position may be filled. The proposed salary range for this position is $121,800.00 - $199,600.00, with short-term incentive bonus eligibility set at 20%.
