ServiceNow Developer – (SecOps)

Job Summary

We are seeking a ServiceNow Developer with a focus on the Security domain and ServiceNow IRM and Vulnerability Management modules to join our ServiceNow Center of Excellence and Innovation in support of the expansion of the global Service Now Platform for Zurich Insurance.

As a ServiceNow Developer you will be responsible for configuring, administering, and scripting on the ServiceNow Platform. The ServiceNow team implements, supports, maintains, operates and upgrades ServiceNow enterprise solutions. The main responsibilities of this role will be to carry out Development activities that primarily focusses on developing solutions on Zurich’s Security Operations and Governance, Risk and Compliance Modules. This includes quickly resolving level 3 Incident tickets, actioning Service Requests, developing solution enhancements and Project deployments on behalf of our key stakeholders. The successful candidate must establish and maintain relationships both within Zurich and with external clients, building a trusted partnership with the business POs for Cyber Risk Management and Security Operations. The successful candidate will also be expected to provide code review and guidance for more junior front-end developers.

Required Technical and Professional Expertise

  • 5- years minimum’ experience directly with development in ServiceNow

  • ServiceNow Fundamentals and Developer Certified.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying ServiceNow framework and architecture, which includes understanding relational databases. Understanding of database query language (specifically SQL)

  • Demonstrate experience and proficiency with implementation, configuration, and design of the ServiceNow Security Operations suite of products.  

  • Experience in development and support within JavaScript frameworks (i.e. AngularJS)

  • Demonstrate strong technical (English) communication skills, able to communicate complex technical concepts in great detail, clearly, to other technical people and non-technical people.

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding in the following ServiceNow technologies/modules:

    • Project/Portfolio Suite

    • Incident, Problem, Major Incident Management and Change Management

    • CMDB

    • HR Case Management

    • Discovery & Asset Management

    • Service Portal

    • ServiceNow Team Development (Tool)

    • IRM/VR

  • Demonstrate experience interacting with IT Leadership at all levels.

  • Demonstrate experience with Agile delivery methodology

  • Demonstrate a strong understanding of the underlying ServiceNow framework and architecture.

Preferred Technical and Professional Experience


  • Experience with Apache Jelly or similar technologies (i.e. JSP)

  • Experience with PowerShell

  • ITIL Foundation Certified

  • 3 to 5 years of experience in Client Facing Communications (Oral, Written)
