Senior Test Analyst

Senior Test Analyst

PURPOSE

 - In connection with business stakeholders, end users, business analysts, project managers and development teams, identifies and documents the necessary testing and testing scenarios, ensuring that all business requirements are covered. 
- Performs, monitors and communicates the progress of the Test Execution and the overall quality experience of the desired test system.

 

MAIN FUNCTIONS

- Review and analyze system requirements and collaborate with team members (Business Analysts, Developers, other testers) to define and/or understand acceptance criteria
- Develop test cases and test scenarios based on the system requirements, 
- Define test data for test execution
- Peer review the test coverage and test cases produced by other testers
- Contribute and/or create the Test Plan
- Execute test cases as per the agreed testing plan, log and retest defects
- Assist with Root Cause Analysis and troubleshooting of defects
- Lead and participate in defect triage meetings and provide updates
- Create test status and summary reports
- Ensure test environments are set up and available according to test plan schedule
- Training of other testers joining the team
- Report significant issues or concerns to the Test lead or Test manager
- Identify improvements to existing testing processes and implement them
- Back up for some Test management when test manager or test lead is absent

 

PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND COMPETENCES

 

REQUIRED:
- Bachelor’s degree or technical college equivalent in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field
- 3 or more years’ experience in testing with proven experience as a tester
- ISTQB foundation or equivalent
- Familiar with Agile frameworks and other methodologies (waterfall, hybrid)
- Working knowledge of test management tools (e.g. HP ALM, Xray, TFS, Azure DevOps) and other Agile tools (e.g. JIRA, Confluence, Azure DevOps)
- Ability to develop new skills including test automation (REST-based / SOAP API, front-end with Selenium / UFT / open source frameworks) 
- Fluent written and spoken English
- Positive attitude, strong communication (verbal and written)
- Meeting/presentation skills
- Team player and able to work in a collaborative environment
- Extraordinary attention to details and follow-through skills, ensuring that all defects and issues are identified and resolved accordingly
- Strong problem solving and creative skills and the ability to exercise sound judgment and make decisions based on accurate and timely analysis
- Self-taught person.
- Leadership skills

 

PREFERRED:
- Ability to coordinate other team members
- Experience reporting progress and results to stakeholders
