Data Solutions Delivery Engineer
Our opportunity
The Data Management team is responsible for defining the data management strategy as well as setting up and expanding the strategic BI & Analytics landscape of Zurich Switzerland as part of numerous projects. We are a young and motivated team and are looking for active support in the further development of the existing data platform.
In this role, as a member of the Platform Team inside Data Management, you will be part of an agile team and provide services to other development/service teams, as well as ensure ongoing services. Specifically, you will support the release process, support the development and application of development standards and support the correct operation of existing processes, among others.
Your role
As a Solution Engineer DWH/BI you are mainly responsible for:
- Support the release and deployment processes.
- Development, validation and documentation of design concepts and target solution architecture.
- Support the further development of architecture and development standards.
- Execution of database queries and analyses in the context of support or ad-hoc inquiries.
- Maintenance and support of the developed solutions and documentation (DevOps, 3rd level).
- Help diagnosing incidents and contribute to the solution.
- Support the general, technical improvement of the platform.
- Within a project take direction from more senior architects, e.g., other solution architectures or functional area architects. Perform or execute given assignments under supervision.
- Contribute to the development and maintenance of IT enterprise architecture, standards and practices by maintaining understanding of current and future technology developments.
- Design, document and implement solutions to automate business processes/activities.
Additional duties:
- Support the analysis of technical requirements and user acceptance tests, as well as ensuring the clean handover to operations.
- Support of test management (planning, design and testing).
- Prepare solution design documents, presentations and other materials, using established formats and standard software and templates.
- Provide consultation for specific area of technology to project efforts within various IT areas and/or external service providers.
- Identify, in collaboration with the functional area architect, existing IT software assets for new opportunities (e.g., re-use) through project and program involvement.
Your qualifications and experience
As a Solution Engineer DWH/BI, you have the following skills and qualifications:
- Practical experience as a developer or in a similar function in the field of data warehousing and data integration, ideally in larger DWH/BI projects.
- Knowledge of solution architectures for DWH/BI applications and the use of BI & Analytics tools, ideally Microsoft BI stack and Azure pipelines.
- Practical experience in database and DWH development, ideally with DWH automation tools such as WhereScape RED.
- Experience in agile frameworks such as Scrum or SAFe.
- Very good knowledge of English (German would be a plus).
- Open, communicative and assertive personality.
- Experience in data quality management and knowledge of data modeling (3NF, Star Schema) would be a plus.

Primary work location is Barcelona, Poblenou. Option to telework from any location within Spain territory is also feasible.
