Property Risk Engineering Team Lead - Benelux North
Due to the growth of our Property portfolio, Zurich Insurance Benelux is looking for a dedicated and experienced Team Lead for our Property Risk Engineers in the northern region of the Benelux. This is an exciting opportunity to lead a dynamic team, drive strategic growth, and ensure operational excellence within Zurich Resilience Solutions.
At Zurich Insurance, our Risk Engineering are a part of Zurich Resilience Solutions (ZRS). ZRS has offices in over 40 countries across the world and serves Zurich clients on a broad range of risk management.
This is a fulltime (parttime is negotiable) hybrid role where you will be based in the Benelux North region. In this position, you will be based out of our office in The Hague, Netherlands.
Key Accountabilities:
In your role as Team Lead, a large part of your daily tasks is focused on the operational performance of the team. Such as reviewing work delivered by the team to ensure that customer satisfaction is in line with KPIs, supporting and initiating process optimization initiatives, and managing your own portfolio of accounts. Alongside this, you will also be responsible for:
People Management
- Supporting the team in their personal and professional development, as well as their wellbeing. This includes performance reviews and advising Head of ZRS Benelux on compensation, promotion, trainings, and growth plans for the team.
- Managing and balancing team workload in collaboration with the Support function.
- Oversee team processes related to travel, expenses, vacation, leaves, and absences.
Strategic Management
- Contribute to strategic planning and development of Property services (e.g., Fire Protection Consulting, Property Valuation, Business Contingency Consulting) and enhancing our market presence.
- Maintaining active relationships and providing representation for relevant projects with person responsible within ZRS for our Property services and ensuring service quality.
Financial Performance
- Contributes to the financial planning of the department in respect to revenues from work related to Property for the region, as well as managing the team’s operational costs and CO2 budgets.
- Executes financial plan for the Property workstream and meet set targets.
- Nurture active relationships with Property underwriting to ensure effective service delivery and managing the outsourcing process with the ZRS support function; prioritizing and minimizing outsourcing needs.
What we are looking for
- Minimum a BSc in a technical field, such as Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Civil Engineering.
- 5+ years of experience as a (senior) Risk Engineer preferably at an international insurance company.
- Ability to manage a team by example-setting, coaching, and motivating. Experience with leading a team or a project is preferred.
- Excellent level of Dutch & English (writing, speaking), French and German is an asset.
- Commercial drive to support ZRS’ growth ambitions.
