Senior Underwriter Construction

Zurich Commercial Insurance is currently looking for a Senior or Expert level Underwriter Construction for the office in The Hague, the Netherlands to build up the Construction Portfolio in Benelux in both the international as well as domestic segments. Key Accountabilities 

Provide leadership and build the construction portfolio for Zurich in Benelux. Teamwork is key alongside the independent coordination of your own customers and portfolio from A to Z. You’re a transparent communicator and you want to broaden your professional network with a passion for the Insurance business. 

Your responsibilities are: 

• Develop, manage and maintain your portfolio with expertise in Construction insurance 
• Manage, develop and broaden contacts with insurance brokers and service providers and your internal colleagues 
• Evaluate and analyze the insurance risks for Construction by processing data, analyzing information and fact-finding consolidation to result in accurate decision making 
• Coordinate, follow up and process all administrative requirements regarding your customers and contacts where you work in a well-arranged manner with and on your files 
• Develop and roll out of new products by combining financial and analytical knowledge with assertiveness and commercial approach 
• Focus on results with a passion for the business 
• Keen on further developing your expertise 
• Work and contribute towards an excellent team performance 

Requirements/Profile 

• At least a Bachelor degree or equal (technical background) 
• 10 or more years of experience with underwriting in Construction insurance 
• Fluent communication in both Dutch or French and English 
• Technical knowledge with commercial flair and analytical thinking 
• Motivated and result driven 
• Affinity with IT systems and software
