Transformation Insurance SME - Claims
The Zurich Commercial Insurance (CI) StandAlone countries (Bene, Nordics and France) are embarking on a new core system replacement focusing on Underwriting, Policy Admin and Claims and are looking for a SME (Subject Matter Expert) with relevant business knowledge in Claims processes, previous experience in Digital Transformation projects being a plus, to support the implementation of Guidewire PolicyCentre and ClaimCentre, and their integration into Zurich CI application landscape.
Under the lead of the Business Program Director and representing the CCO (Chief Claims Officer), the SME will be part of a team representing the 3 business units (Bene, Nordics and France) and the 3 functions (Underwriting, Policy Administration and Claims). This team will work very closely with the functional stream lead by the – under selection – system integrator (SI). This role will be responsible for collecting the required inputs/details within the claims function for the Bene business unit (BU) to enable the SI to create the functional designs for the implementation of Guidewire. In this role, you will also ensure that these inputs are harmonized with the other BU’s and other functions and require a minimum level of customization for the application.
This role will act as a spokesperson within the business unit/function to ensure the bridge between the project team and the business. Additionally, you will on occasions participate in updates to senior management. Furthermore, you will work closely with your counter part of Nordics and France business units.
This is a newly established role and will report to the Business Program Director of the Guidewire implementation project. The role will have high visibility and will be followed closely by the Executive Committees of the three business units as this is a key project for all the business units.
This role is a unique opportunity for a SME with an Claims background to be part of one of the largest core insurance transformation programs within Europe, gaining deep knowledge on a very renowned core insurance application, broadly implemented within Zurich Group, and develop skills such as stakeholders management, digital transformation and business analysis.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
- Learn the Guidewire application & Standard (OOTB – Out Of The Box) processes
- Provide/Collect input for detailed requirements, align them with the other BU’s and document them in a structure way
- Review Functional Designs/Documentation prepared by the System Integrator
- Create/review outbound documents/template
- Support Testing stream (Review test scripts, conduct testing)
- Support Change Management stream (Review training material and instructions, support Business users during User Acceptance Testing)
- Project spokesperson/ambassador within BU/Functions colleagues

- Ability to adapt and cope with ambiguity and uncertainty.
- Willingness to travel between the different BU locations (if/when required).
- Languages: Excellent English skills (oral & written) is required.
- Must be currently located within Belgium or Netherlands (non negotiable)
