IT Financial Controller

Zurich Insurance is looking for a dynamic and detail-oriented IT Finance Controller to join our team in Diegem, Belgium.

Our IT Hub team is essential to the Application, Development and Maintenance (ADM) for Zurich's Commercial Insurance business units across Belgium, Denmark, Finland, France, Netherlands, Norway, and Sweden. This hybrid position requires the candidate to be based in Belgium.

As an IT Finance Controller, you will be crucial in maintaining financial stability and accuracy within the team. Your expertise will be vital in managing accounting-related activities, monitoring daily financial tasks, and preparing detailed financial reports.

Key Accountabilities

• Finance and Budget management support (budget planning, resources allocation calculations, monthly accruals, actuals, invoices handling, controls and corrections in SAP, Intercompany recharges, etc.)
• Financial reconciliation and handling of expense reports as well as from a performance view
• Creating and implementing new processes when needed. Ensuring all general existing financial processes are well formalized, documented and updated.
• Follow-up on the different audit controls monthly/quarterly/semi-annually/annually and ensure all actions are closed on time.
• Update the projects portfolio and Plainview when needed; ensure if changes in processing of the quarterly invoice are easy to implement from financial side too.
• Establish a valued channel of communication with all the different stakeholders
• Balance sheet reporting, analysis, reconciliations and control
• Ensure tasks performed adhere to the internal control framework
• Prepare proactively reporting/slides for Senior Management meetings such as Strategic Committee, OPS Board, etc.
• Keep management proactively informed of anything that might have impact on budget and support project teams with their budget management, informing management of any deviation   

Qualifications:

• Proficient in financial reporting, the close process, financial data processing, and knowledgeable in financial systems like SAP.
• Skilled in the Office suite, particularly Excel and PowerPoint, with desirable skills in Power Apps.
• Capable of handling multiple tasks simultaneously in a high-pressure environment with conflicting priorities, while working autonomously without continuous supervision.
• Fluent in English, with strong communication skills, excellent customer service, and the ability to interact effectively with a wide range of contacts.
• Adept at dealing with confidential information diplomatically, demonstrating autonomy and proactive behavior.
