Zurich Insurance Plc are currently recruiting for the role of Claims Performance Analyst. This role will be based in ZIP Head Office in the IFSC Dublin. 

The sucessful candidate will support the Head of Claims Performance & Analytics to both develop and create advanced analytics and insights using ZIP’s new LEA (“Learn Evolve Automate”) in-house Cloud Claims analytics platform. To work closely together with the EMEA countries and ZIP HO teams to work actionable insights through to root cause and present findings back to the ZIP Team and Chief Claims Office (CCO), ultimately supporting regulatory oversight by the Central Bank of Ireland.

Your Role

As a Claims Performance Analst your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

Key Accountabilities:

  • Leverage your Claims and analytics expertise to evolve analytics in Power BI and SQL to:
  • Develop and maintain Azure Cloud-based Dashboards to highlight financial and operational developments across EMEA territories and all business lines.
  • Monitor and verify operational and financial claims performance, with an emphasis on reserving accuracy, and operational timeliness.
  • Oversee claims developments in all ZIP countries and challenge countries regarding adverse developments in main KPIs.
  • Uncover data and trend anomalies and follow up with the EMEA countries in the event of unexpected/unfavourable developments.
  • Create insights on claims performance by linking across multiple systems.
  • Support deep dive analysis on behalf of the ZIP HO Claims team. 
  • Support branch Quality Assurance oversight by indicating areas of interest for deeper dives.
  • Creation of supporting reports / presentations to CxO level audience.
  • Support multi-disciplinary projects and teams engage with IT specialists, Claim Operations SMEs, as well as the network of claims performance managers and further develop the ZIP regional management information.
  • Engage with EMEA countries to ensure best practice in analytics and reporting.
  • Drive claims analytics within ZIP, from development to delivery and iterative improvement. 

Additional Job Functions:

  • High quantitative affinity and highly developed curiosity. 
  • Very high desire to constantly learn and improve to achieve ‘best in class’ MI reporting.

Business Accountabilities:

  • Conduct claims data mining and analytics investigations to spot underlying root causes on behalf of the ZIP HO Claims team. 
  • Work closely with ZIP countries and Global Claims MI teams to ensure that ZIP Claims has high quality, timely, accurate and compelling front end/dashboards. 
  • Collect data from multiple sources and prepare reports including commentary and analysis of trends to facilitate decision making.
  • Provide detailed procedural advice to EMEA countries to ensure that internal standards are adhered to. 
  • Research primary data sources, select relevant information, analyse key themes and trends and make recommendations to the ZIP HO Claims team. 

Performance Management Accountabilities:

Your Skills & Experience


As a Claims Performance Analyst your skills and qualifications will include


  • Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent) and 3 or more years’ experience in the Insurance sector or related field. 



  • Bachelor’s degree, or higher-level qualification, in Information Technology, Mathematics/Statistics, or Analytics related field.
  • Experience of claims processes, knowledge / experience with claims legacy systems, claims and policy data landscape, management information systems.

Additional Education/Expertise

  • A passion for data and robust numerical and analytical skills.
  • Experience working with multi-national teams, cultures and stakeholders on all levels.
  • Advanced communication, presentation, facilitation, organizational and planning skills.
  • Fluent verbal and written communication skills in English.

Additional Information


Primary work location is IFSC based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
