IFRS17 FAR Transition Lead-24 Month FTC


Job Summary

Zurich Insurance Plc is hiring for a newly created position within Zurich Insurance Plc (ZIP) Head Office Finance team reporting to the ZIP Finance Project Lead.  ZIP is responsible for the Legal Entity Statutory and Regulatory (Solvency II) Reporting of ZIP. The Finance team ensures that ZIP’s 13 European General Insurance Branches report the required information on time and in accordance with relevant Regulations and Accounting Standards. 

From Q1 2023, ZIP will transition from Irish GAAP to IFRS17. Within this role you will be responsible for leading the transition of FAR BAU reporting processes to IFRS17.


Key Accountabilities

Your Role:


As IFRS17 Transition Lead, your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

IFRS17 Transition Lead

  • Lead the analysis of the IFRS17 Full Parallel Run submissions.
  • Working closely with the BAU teams, lead the transition of quarterly reporting processes and controls to IFRS17/9, ensuring readiness for 2023 go-live
  • Working with the Senior Project Lead, ensure BAU teams are fully trained in IFRS17 concepts and impacts.
  • Play lead role in the digital transformation and enhancement of FAR processes
  • Monitoring progress to plan and escalating as needed where progress is behind schedule
  • Other ad hoc project tasks

Job Qualifications

Your Skills and Experience


As IFRS17 Transition Lead your skills and qualifications will include:


Technical Competencies:
• Qualified accountant with at least + 7years PQE in insurance sector
• Understanding of Irish GAAP and IFRS17 for Insurers
• Previous experience in working on change projects an advantage
• Intermediate to advanced Microsoft excel skills
• Data analytics skills and knowledge of tools
• Knowledge of Power BI and PowerPivot
• Strong analytical skills

• Positive outlook and flexibility to handle change, including need for exceptional effort as required
• Strong communication skills, written and verbal, when interacting with ZIP HO team but also with ZIP Branch and Zurich Group contacts

Primary work location is IFSC Dublin 1. Position is Dublin based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
