Team/Department Background/overview:  
 
Zurich IT Department is currently divided between two locations in Dublin (Ballsbridge & Blackrock).
The role advertised will be predominately based in Ballsbridge with the primary focus on supporting the Zurich General Insurance business. 

The IT team & test team works closely with local Business Change, local subject matter experts and key 3rd parties to deliver and manage IT solutions that support the business strategy of Zurich Ireland.

Zurich Insurance Plc is looking for a Mulesoft Developer to play a key role in the IT Department and be involved in leading the end to end delivery of the business-critical software enhancements. You will work in a wider project team on the end to end testing of complex software solutions and be proactive in the development of the Mulesoft & application integration capabilities with Zurich Ireland

 

Your Role

As a Mulesoft Developer your main responsibilities will include, but not necessarily be limited to, the following:

  • Lead on the design & development of a Service Orientated Architecture capability
  • Working on cross functional project team implement complex business solution
  • Lead on decision making on the design of the Services Orientated Architecture to support the Program delivery
  • Upskilling of & supporting existing team members
  • Tracking, control and resolution of software issues and queries.

  • Builds good working relationships with Enterprise Architect, Team members within IT Department, Test Team and Project Management.
  • Ability to help keep team motivated in high pressure situations.
  • Experience in all areas of the testing life cycle.

Your Skills and Experience

As a Mulesoft Developer your skills and qualifications will include: 

  • Having one or more of the following technical competencies:
    • Project delivery in a Multi-tier enterprise grade applications
    • Extensive Service Orientated Architecture (SOA) knowledge
    • 5+ Years of Building of Web Services on Mulesoft SOA platform
    • Building of Web Services on Java / Spring Technologies
    • Strong Experience on build tools like Maven and ANT
    • Experience on Continuous Integration tools like Team city or Bamboo or equivalent
    • Java, Oracle SOA/OSB or equivalent
    • SOAP and Restful Web Services
    • Unix or Linux Shell Scripts
    • Any database with JDBC
    • XML Technologies like XSD, XPATH and XSL
    • Testing frameworks like from Spring
    • General Insurance industry knowledge, would be an advantage
    • Experience of programming in SQL is an added plus
    • Experience of working in iSeries environment would be an advantage 
    • Experience with working with offshore colleagues, would be an advantage

Additional Information

Primary work location is Dublin. Position is Ballsbridge-based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
