Operational Risk Analyst-12 Month FTC-Hybrid

 

Zurich Life Assurance Plc are currently recruiting for an Operational Risk Analyst on a 12 month fixed term contract. 
The successful candidate  will work with a dynamic risk management team from diverse backgrounds with experience in Risk Management, Business, IT, Operations, Actuarial Science, Capital Markets, Banking and Finance. 


 

Your Role

 

Reporting to the Operational Risk Manager, you will:

  • Work with a highly motivated and collaborative team;
  • Be involved in embedding the operational risk pillar of the ERM framework to meet Central Bank of Ireland regulatory requirements;
  • Be part of a global risk management team that specialise in developing risk methodologies and provide subject matter expertise.

 

Role & Responsibilities:  

  • Overall responsibilities will include, but will not be limited to, the following:
  • Support the Risk Management Team in the implementation and maintenance of an effective operational risk pillar of the ERM framework, including:
  • Ensure a robust risk and control framework is in place;
  • Assist with the completion of risk assessment processes, ensuring regular follow-up and reporting on improvement actions;
  • Undertake regular challenge meetings with management and identifying opportunities for appropriate risk mitigations;
  • Monitor operational event and near miss reporting for completeness;
  • Complete reviews as part of the integrated controls assurance process;
  • Assist with the preparation of reports to the Risk Oversight Committees; and
  • Identify opportunities for developing efficiencies and effectiveness with the operational risk management processes.
  • Support the risk management function to implement a risk culture programme throughout the organisation;
  • Assist with the delivery of training and communications to Risk Champions;
  • Facilitate the review of existing Risk and Control Frameworks with management.
  • Become a key player in the development of a comprehensive operational risk taxonomy, including amalgamating various operational risks across the organisation.

Your Skills & Experience

 

As an Operational Risk Analyst your skills and qualifications will include: 

Required: 

  • Strong analytical, negotiation and influencing skills;
  • Excellent diplomacy, inter-personal skills, and communication skills;
  • Experience working in a second line risk management function, particularly operational risk, would be an advantage;
  • Highly motivated to deliver in a challenging and results focused environment;
  • In depth experience in insurance, risk management, audit, compliance, finance or controlling;
  • Degree in Economics, Business, Finance, Law, IT or similar;
  • Qualification in Risk Management e.g. PRMIA, or willingness to undertake a Risk Management qualification;
  • Comprehensive understanding of the prevailing regulatory environment; technical knowledge of, or experience in insurance regulation and legislation would be an advantage but not required; and
  • Fluency in English, both spoken and written.

 

 

Additional Information

 

Primary work location is Blackrock based but occasional travel may be required to other Zurich locations.
