Project Manager


Job Summary


Zurich Life Assurance is looking for a Project Manager to join the team.The sucessful candidate will be responsible for planning and managing ZLAP change projects, to deliver agreed business capabilities and benefits within the overall change budget. Responsibility for ensuring business case objectives are clear and met, and delivering projects within the specified constrain

Job Accountabilities



Project management

  • Project Management of the full spectrum of project delivery disciplines including Scoping, Business Case development, Stakeholder Impact Assessment, Planning, Development of Requirements, Design, Build, Test (SIT and UAT), Business Readiness, Deployment, post-go-live support and Service Transition of change projects
  • Understands and is able to select the most appropriate delivery approach (Waterfall, SCRUM, Lean). Able to effectively adapt and apply the different delivery approaches to fit the project and environment
  • Identify and track key milestones to get projects delivered
  • Clearly and accurately communicate project status, issues, dependencies and risks to leadership and other stakeholders
  • Proactively identify program risks, manage and escalate where appropriate, working with stakeholders to keep projects moving and on track
  • Facilitate decision-making by identifying key stakeholders and surfacing the required information to make critical decisions
  • Establish and maintain appropriate communication and engagement with stakeholders
  • Balance the competing constraints of scope, schedule, budget, quality, resources, and risk to produce the specified product, service, or result
  • Ensure change readiness of the ZLAP organization
  • Where required - support the sponsor in the setup of the project to ensure the business case is clearly defined and relevant stakeholders are engaged as part of evaluating the preferred product solution.
  • Develop a detailed project plan at task level based on the agreed business case, manage and control project delivery in accordance with baseline parameters and standards
  • Determine quality policies, objectives, and responsibilities so that the project will satisfy the needs for which it was undertaken and the project requirements, including product requirements, are met and validated.
  • Manage projects in accordance and compliance with related methodologies and policies: Zurich Project Management Framework, including all applicable components and supplements, Zurich Risk Policy, section 10.11 Project Risk and its appendices, Procurement policies, IT Infrastructure Library service management – for projects and programs with an IT component.

Contribution to Business Change function

  • Will be expected to contribute or lead contributions to the continuous improvement of the Business Change ways of working and look to bring examples of best practice delivery to the Zurich Delivery Model in conjunction with the Portfolio Delivery Lead
