Shared Service Sourcing Specialist – Procurement & Vendor Management - (Part-Time, Job-Share and Full-Time)

Location: Swindon or Fareham


The opportunity: 


UK Procurement and Vendor Management (PVM) have an exciting vacancy working across the function to provide sourcing support to the Shared Service portfolio. The shared service typically consists of HR, EPS, Marketing, and Corporate Real Estate portfolio to work within the UK Procurement and Vendor Management function.

In this newly created role, the successful applicant will drive efficiencies by supporting tactical or operational activities through identifying and creating efficient sourcing strategies for specific areas of spend that are aligned with the Business and drive local sourcing plans. 

You will identify lower-risk spend areas and revise the overall approach through the standardisation of services and goods, exploring more efficient ways to the source (e.g. tactical buy/e-auctions / self-service from Preferred Supplier Lists or panels to create catalogues for end users).

You will build strong relationships with key stakeholders and across their PVM portfolio ensuring regular engagement and priorities are aligned to support the team and drive efficiencies and opportunities.

Other responsibilities will include

•           Drafting and negotiating contract extensions, variations and SoWs to existing contracts.

•           Managing the governance process through DocuSign.

•           Driving Coupa adoption across the Business.

This is a fantastic opportunity for somebody who would like to develop their contractual and commercial negotiations within the PVM space and get exposure to some of the more strategic projects that sit within the wider team.

This role is available part-time, job-share or full-time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.


Your skills and experience:


Ideally, you already have professional experience in Procurement and/or Supplier Management preferably in a service company. You may also have the following:

  • A qualification in Procurement and/or Supplier Management (such as Level 4 CIPS)
  • Experience of working in a Shared Service centre.
  • Knowledge of PVM processes and techniques
  • Strong communication skills with internal and external stakeholders
  • You like to acquire new knowledge quickly and are curious to break new ground, especially in the field of Procurement & Vendor Management
  • Patient and persistent in achieving the common goals
  • High self-motivation combined with self-initiative
  • Resilience and good handling of stressful situations
  • You know how to work to smash incredibly tight deadlines and apply sharp attention to process, detail and quality
  • Are you a team Team Player that can flex approach and know instinctively how to get the very best out of everyone, and would like to further develop within Zurich's Procurement & Vendor Management function?
