The opportunity: 

 

Do you have experience within Underwriting? Have you previously worked with Delegated Authority Arrangements? Are you looking for a new challenge? If so, we would love to hear from you. As a Portfolio Underwriter in Zurich Municipal, you will be focusing on the management, control and renewal of our Delegated Authority arrangements, working across all lines of business, with specific focus on Property, Casualty and Motor.

This is a unique opportunity to build your knowledge and experience within the Zurich Municipal business, which offers a truly bespoke and personalised service to a range of customers in the Public Sector – from education to charities.

 

This role is available part-time, job-share or full time. This is because we want the best people for our roles, and we recognise that sometimes those people aren’t available full-time.

 

What will you be doing?

 

Some of your key activities include:

 

  • Manage UW referrals from our DA partners, liaising with Line of Business representatives as appropriate, and ensuring DA operates within Zurich’s underwriting strategy and appetite
  • Ensure delivery of financial and underwriting metrics for Delegated Authority (DA) partners
  • Ensure all correct Governance protocols and procedures have been followed in accordance with regulatory requirements
  • Support the DA annual review cycle and resultant actions
  • Ensure data quality from our DA partners is maintained to agreed standards and required focus on UW breaches, Complaints logs, etc.
  • Collect and analyse quarterly conduct MI from DA partners
  • Work with appropriate stakeholders (Legal, Marketing, Compliance, Distribution, Underwriting etc.) on any ad-hoc initiatives, projects concerning our DA’s
  • Ensure areas for improvement are identified, with actions tracked and monitored through to resolution
  • Demonstrate underwriting expertise
  • Maintain close working relationships with our DA partners
  • Support growth objectives by providing support in the underwriting due diligence and onboarding process for prospective new partnerships

 

 

What are we looking for?

 

  • Underwriting experience essential
  • An Understanding of Delegated Authorities would be beneficial
  • Excellent communication skills - this role involves a high level of engagement with a wide variety of internal stakeholders plus external Delegated Authorities
  • Strong negotiation skills
  • Superior skills in relationship building
  • Strong attention to detail and high level of accuracy
  • Ability to effectively assess risk
  • Confidence to question and challenge the status quo
  • Proactive and the ability to manage and prioritise your own workloads
  • Ability to adapt to changes and embrace new challenges
  • Cert or DiP CII Qualified or actively working towards accreditation
