Claims Officer (Motor)

Job Summary

  • With moderate supervision to manage standard own damage claims, Third-Party Property Damage (TPPD) & Recovery cases in the most effective, efficient way whilst delivering a customer centric claims service in a manner which supports Zurich Basics

 

Job Accountabilities

  • Promptly handle first party claims taking responsibility to resolve all enquiries from both customer and external contacts to ensure delivery of a focused claims service
  • Follow up on new cases with key role in handling own damage, TPPD & Recovery cases
  • Develop a claims case strategy to ensure that appropriate reserves are assigned with investigations conducted and appropriate suppliers engaged
  • Acquire and efficiently organize the relevant evidence and information to accurately assess the value of the claim and to recognize potential fraud / recovery indicators
  • Review, resolve and proactively finalize claims within authority limits ensuring settlement at an optimum level
  • Adhere to local regulatory and governance requirements throughout the life of the claim to ensure that we make decisions using the right standards
  • Refer to customer specific claims handling protocol and/or customer proposition service charter to ensure that we understand & fulfill the needs and expectations of our customers

 

Job Qualifications

  • Degree / Associate Degree / Diploma holder or equivalent working experience
  • ANZIIF/ACII would be an asset
  • Knowledge of claims agreements and interpretation of policy cover
  • Technical Knowledge on motor products and services
  • Good command of English and Chinese in both written and spoken
  • Customer-oriented with excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Strong team player, willing to learn, able to work independently and under pressure
  • Self-motivated, analytical and detail-minded in problem solving
  • Strong sense of responsibility with high level of integrity and trust
  • Desire to learn and be flexible to business change
  • Candidates with different levels of relevant experience will be considered for different positions
  • Candidates with no claims handling experience will also be considered
