1-year Contract Actuarial Associate, IFRS 17 (General Insurance)

Job Responsibilities

  • Perform IFRS 17 calculations, and provide quantitative impact studies – identifying drivers of the result, uncertainties, and sensitivities
  • Understand and explain relation to our core IFRS 4 Reserving analysis (i.e. impact of changing payment patterns on discounting)
  • Regular and clear communication to senior stakeholders (internally, regulators, auditors), identifying the strategic messages we can extract from IFRS 17
  • Coordinating with the project team (locally and regionally) to manage progress and identify issues/roadblocks before they happen
  • Development of efficient processes to tightly integrate our processes/data/knowledge into the future reporting framework
  • Automation of routine processes, to allow focus on core value-add work
  • Working with the broader Finance function and business to ensure a broad understanding of IFRS 17 results and impact on our business

 

Job Requirements

  • Bachelors Degree in Actuarial Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer science or a related subject with minimum 3 years of experience in an actuarial role within Property & Casualty insurance
  • Strong attention to detail, curious and enthusiastic to understand all details of your work
  • Previous worked on IFRS 17 in a Property & Casualty environment
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills is essential
  • Knowledge of ResQ, R and/or SQL
  • Strong English language communication skills, and ideally Cantonese or Mandarin skills
  • Strong attention to detail, curious and enthusiastic to understand all details of your work
  • Previous worked on IFRS 17 in a P&C environment
  • Strong analytical and problems solving skills is essential
  • Knowledge of ResQ, R and/or SQL
  • Strong English language communication skills, and ideally Cantonese or Mandarin skills
