Risk Analyst
To support HKBU risk management and internal control activities and to ensure adherence to local risk regulations and Zurich Risk Policy and assist in the review and challenge of operational risk areas (operation indicators, internal controls, business resilience, and third-party management activities). You are expected to have some experience and understanding of operational risk and internal controls. A strong interest to learn risk management and insurance regulatory requirements.
Job Responsibilities:
- Ensure risk and control activities completed on time and of high quality, e.g. control attestation and management testing, Risk Appetite Statement (RAS) monitoring, risk assessments etc.
- Monitor Zurich Risk Policy adherence and policy exceptions and breaches
- Monitor the progress of internal control action plans to ensure remediation actions are completed timely
- Respond to risk and control related enquiries from the business/ 2nd line/ 3rd line and be able to escalate the matter to the Line Manager as required
- Annual review of the Risk Appetite Statement and Risk Management Framework
- Facilitate 1st line/ business to review control mitigate/ addresses the associate risks
- Maintain the completeness and accuracy of risk data in Zurich’s risk and control engine application (RACE)
- Risk support to operations Team in adhering to Third Party Governance Management (TPGM)
- Draft risk reports and ensure the adoption of GRM tools, templates and methodology within the BU
- Risk support on project risk/ risk review (e.g. cross-border business)
- Develop/ update Risk functions management dashboards
- Other Ad-hoc tasks assigned by the Line Manager
Job Requirements:
- Degree in Engineering, Computer Science, Risk Management, Finance, Business, Business Administration, or a related field
- 1 to 2 years’ experience in Operation Risk Management, business assurance for external/ internal audit. Fresh graduate is also welcome.
- Experience in data analysis, analytics, business intelligence or management reporting (is an advantage)
- A basic understanding of risk management practices, especially in the operational risk area
- A good understanding of design and operation of controls within a financial institution would be an advantage
- A basic understanding of insurance business
- Experience using Power BI and PowerApp (is an advantage)
- Demonstrate critical thinking and the ability to deal with complexity, ambiguity or incomplete data
- Ability to work independently and as a team
