Automation Lead

Purpose

 

This purpose of this position is to help the organization to drive efficiency through process Improvement and automation.  In addition to manage the related process improvement and automation projects in accordance with the Governance of the Project Management, and coaching the Project Managers with the Zurich Project Management Framework.

Specific consulting responsibilities include facilitating operational transformation via strategic/industry perspectives acting as a thought partner with key business leaders, defining and structuring opportunities/projects to deliver the transformation strategy, leading process reengineering and continuous improvement projects, e.g. LEAN/Six Sigma and automation.

Job Qualifications

  • Bachelor degree (or equivalent) in Engineering / IT / Science / Economics related areas; and/or two or more years of experience in related fields.  Experience in Process Re-engineering, Process Implementation and Automation would be a plus.
  • Familiar with Process Improvement Methodology (Lean, Six Sigma, TQM)
  • Familiar with intellegent Automation Tools and prior proven deployments of robotics (UiPath/RPA, Power Automate, RPA, Test Automation, Macro etc)
  • Familiar with Project management Framework (PMI/ Prince/ Agile/ Scrum)
  • Experience in managing team and ad hoc team
  • Life insurance and data analytics knowledge will be an advantage

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

1) Process Improvement / Automation

  • Liaise / Discuss / Challenge with Business Units to understand their pain points
  • Coordinate with Regional COE Team (Opex, Data Analytics, etc), and Internal team
  • Build up process improvement and automation pipeline
  • Articulate Benefits and implementation cost of the Process Improvement/ Automation
  • Prioritize and create implementation timeline
  • Ensure proper documentation are available throughout the process improvement / automation processes
  • Explore existing and applicable tools for improvement and automation
  • Develop automation and implement process improvement project

2) Project Management:

  • Ensure the Project, and IT Small Enhancements are adhered to the Project Management Framework
  • Ensure appropriate Project and IT SEM update are available for Project Governance Meeting and SEM update
  • Raise and escalate Project and IT SEM related issues to appropriate function.
  • Coach and Mentor existing Project Manager
  • Deliver project as per Waterfall/ Agile methodology
  • Ensuring project are on time, on budget and Quality

Business Accountabilities

  • Work together with business unit to develop improvement target for the business area.
  • Review business process to identify issues, waste, bottleneck and propose improvement.
  • Drive the business results value from the process improvement and automation
  • Ensure all process improvement and automation process are aligned with the local regulation, compliance and Zurich risk appetite
  • Review and analyze Project portfolio using standard reporting tools and highlight discrepancies against plan.
  • Provide technical expertise on aspects of the Project management framework to project manager, advise them of appropriate actions to fulfill procedural and regulatory requirements or solve immediate problems.

Performance Management Accountabilities

  • Model behaviors that demonstrate commitment to corporate values.
  • Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members
  • Educate team members and business partners on area of technical expertise.
  • Provide guidance and support for project managers and business unit.
  • Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.
