Job purpose:
Commercial Insurance IT seeks multiple Guidewire Senior Developers to join our internal Commercial Insurance Guidewire Competency Team based in Kraków, which focuses on delivering a new end-to-end Guidewire insurance suite for use across multiple countries.
You will be part of a dynamic team delivering a state-of-the-art Guidewire implementation across multiple countries. This is an exciting opportunity for someone with a strong background in Guidewire solution architecture and development across the Insurance Suite of applications.
You will collaborate in an international team with other developers and architects along with business analysts, testers, and business stakeholders and support all our lines of business and market segments in Commercial Insurance.
Responsibilities:
- As part of a dynamic project team spread across multiple locations develop and subsequently maintain a new end-to-end Guidewire platform.
- Working within a fast-paced agile framework, participate in new product development based on business requirements ensuring coding meets Guidewire standards.
- Build Guidewire development components and frameworks with maximum reusability in an international scope, where the business principles are the same but detailed processes may vary for each Country or Business Unit.
- Within the project development team suggest and share ideas, align with other developers, document methods of coding for specific topics to ensure transparency.
- Stay on top of latest evolutions of Guidewire Cloud, show flexibility and creativity to easily incorporate new features and make them available to our internal and external users.
- Participate in ongoing unit testing and subsequent UAT (user acceptance testing) ensuring bugs are identified and correctly fixed within the project framework.
Candidate’s profile:
- 5+ Years of GW Configuration experience (PolicyCenter and ClaimsCenter preferred).
- Guidewire Cloud certification is a plus.
- Experience with full SDLC and iterative (Agile) development lifecycle as used in GW implementations.
- Experience with Guidewire integrations.
- Solid understanding of Gosu programming language and ability to write, debug, and optimize code.
- Knowledge of REST API, SOAP API, App Events, Git, Bickbucket, Teamcity, DataDog and SQL.
- Hands-on experience with Agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban).
- Experience with XML, GUnit, Jenkins, GIT/Subversion/TFS, Code Coverage and Code Scan Plugin/Tools.
- Large Scale System Delivery Experience preferably for Policy Administration Systems.
- Experience in migration projects, ideally within the insurance sector, is preferred.
- Experienced in data mapping and data migration is desirable.
- Working proficiency in English.

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.
This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
