IT Desktop Support Specialist

Purpose:
This position will provide technical support to users of computers, software and hardware running the Windows operating systems. These individuals can solve both hardware and software problems, diagnose and resolve network connectivity problems, and help with product updates. This important support role demands knowledge that is current and applicable to the user's environment.
Responsibilities:
- Provides comprehensive and expanded first and second level help desk support for IT incidents, problems and service requests.
- Installs, upgrades, supports and troubleshoots Windows 11 or newer, Microsoft Office products and any other authorized desktop applications in line with Zurich standards.
- Provides laptop and printer, telephony and software support/troubleshooting.
- Maintains and troubleshoots business applications and computers remotely.
- Manages tickets via SNOW tool including escalations
- Resolves problems escalated from within the Help Desk local function and Desktop Support area providing resolution knowledge and feedback to less experienced staff.
- Develops and implements continuous service improvement initiatives and knowledge sharing/gathering initiatives.
- Provides evidence to local IT Risk Controls
Candidate’s profile:
- Experience as an IT supporter (multicultural environment experience would be an asset).
- Technical knowledge in hardware area (laptop) is must.
- Familiar with administration of some of the following products: MS office, Office365, Outlook, Microsoft Intune, Azure, Windows 11 and other MS based systems, (SAP would be an asset).
- Areas of network (basic switching, routing, VPN) and Server systems, storage, security/patching and application deployment would be an asset.
- Communicative level of English skills.
- Good verbal and written communication skills. Proactive approach.
- Ability to work in a team or independently and communicate effectively.
- Availability for late shift assignment (11:00-19:00 & 14:30-22:00)
- Readiness for 12 months contract with prospect for permanent employment.

In March 2016 we established a Shared Service Centre in Kraków, in Poland to support our global strategy. It is from this location that we have created a global shared service platform, focusing on advanced business functions such as financial accounting and reporting, planning and performance management, ICFR testing, financial systems management as well as HR integrated talent management operations.
This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
