Job Purpose:

 

The job purpose of a Reinsurance Accounting Specialist is to provide crucial support in the evaluation and management of reinsurance contracts, claims, and relationships with reinsurers. This is a key role in ensuring compliance with company policies, efficient claim settlement, and effective communication and collaboration with reinsurers. Additionally, the incumbent will contribute to the generation of insightful reinsurance reports and analysis to support informed decision-making within the organization.

The role gives opportunity to participate in local, regional and global projects and that is why we are looking for a proactive, flexible person with a “can do” approach.

 

 

Responsibilities:

  • Assist in reviewing and analyzing reinsurance contracts to ensure adherence to company policies and guidelines.
  • Support the development and maintenance of relationships with reinsurers.
  • Aid in the processing and settlement of reinsurance claims, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
  • Provide support to internal stakeholders by offering reinsurance expertise and guidance.
  • Assist in generating reinsurance reports and conducting analysis to support decision-making.
  • Actively identify areas for process improvement, inefficiencies, drive the continuous process improvement and standardization,
  • Join relevant training sessions to maintain good knowledge of the system, processes and changes.
  • Keep SOP/training guides up to date for own role & processes in collaboration with Group Reinsurance Finance & Recovery Team.

Candidate’s profile:

  • At least 2-3 years of relevant accounting experience
  • Finance and Accounting, Economy or equivalent academic degree
  • Intercompany or mix of reconciliation/AP/AR experience nice to have
  • Very good knowledge of MS Excel (advanced formulas, pivot tables etc.) and financial system (SAP as preferred)
  • Analytical skills and attention to detail
  • Excellent customer service skills 
  • Comfortable in working with all levels of grade and authority  
  • English skills – fluent written and spoken (C1 level)

 

Additional requirements:

  • This position will be dedicated for the US (American) customer, which will require occasionally adapting to work according to the US hours as per the team’s shift schedule.

This role is related to the key area of Zurich’s activity in Kraków.
