Application Specialist

Job Summary

Application Specialist will manage and controls system development projects (SDLC). Undertakes complex business analysis and software development works, required knowledge in working practices and business processes in one or more insurance business areas. Provides technical advice and guidance to colleagues to support the specification and development of software solutions.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

• Works with business as required.
• Analyzes programs to ensure that they efficiently use computer and storage resources; recommends appropriate changes as necessary.
• Conducts preliminary estimates of Magnitude for the level of effort of new/change to application functionality.
• Conducts system studies, analyzes, and evaluates existing computerized and manual systems/procedures to improve efficiency.
• Enhance and develop identified programs or screens.
• Manages and controls system development projects.
• Supports the implementation activities, troubleshoots system environmental issues, provides training, as required.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree, Post Graduate Diploma, Professional Degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or equivalent.
• At least 2-3 years of working experience in related fields.
• Must have basic IT architecture knowledge.
• Knowledge in Universe Basic programming will be an extra advantage.
