Facultative Reinsurance & Retakaful Specialist

Purpose
Under general direction, executes reinsurance account management-related responsibilities in the preparation, conclusion, documentation, and administration of traditional reinsurance agreements with internal or external parties for the reinsurance business assigned.

Key Accountabilities

• Treaty Placement & Account Management (including Zurich Business Unit relationship management) Treaty Premium Planning & Analysis. 
• Treaty Contract Compliance review and documentation. 
• Ensure Zurich Risk Policy compliance and governance requirements for the reinsurance business and take action to ensure they are met. 
• Supports the data call and review process. 
• Supports and promotes relationship management with the Zurich Business Units. 
• Supports the relationship management of attributed cedents, reinsurers, and reinsurance brokers. 
• Captures treaty details in mainframe system and works closely with the Finance team to ensure a smooth clothing process.

Additional Job Functions

• May support regulatory request coordination and/or the state examination process. 
• Participate in special projects as assigned.

Business Accountabilities

• Contribute to the achievement of the assigned reinsurance plans and targets. 
• Support the development and implementation of relevant reinsurance guidelines.
• Provide specialist advice to address specific technical queries from the Business Units. 
• Enhance business through consulting with the Business Units, reinsurers, cedents, and/or brokers.

Performance Management Accountabilities

• Provide input into performance management discussions of project team members. 
• Coach and provide technical advice and counsel within and outside operating unit. 
• Take action to manage own personal development and encourage others to do the same.

Education & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or finance and 3 or more years of experience in the Insurance Industry area

Preferred

• Reinsurance industry Knowledge 
• Advanced knowledge of reinsurance contracts 
• Negotiation experience 
• Strong verbal and written communication skills
