Financial & Sustainability Risk Specialist

JOB SUMMARY

To assist and support the Head of Financial & Insurance Risk, and CRO in delivering the financial and sustainability risk initiatives.

 

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES – KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Assist the business in achieving its objectives in a sustainable manner by supporting an enterprise wide risk management framework with specific focus on financial, insurance and sustainability risk that is complete, effective and efficient.
  • Ensure effective risk and control governance and oversight of investment risk, ALM, insurance risks, sustainability risk and strategic initiatives undertaken by the entity.
  • Support the Line Manager and CRO to enable Management to identify and implement solutions to manage the strategic, financial, insurance and sustainability risks for all projects and new initiatives undertaken by the entity.
  • To be kept abreast, understand and to be able to analyse current emerging business, competitive and regulatory landscapes and gain better understanding of the risks arising from these developments and its impact on the business’ objective and initiatives; so as to enable the Risk Management function to provide adequate challenge and input to Management and the relevant function owners in the 1st and 2nd line of defence.
  • Promote a culture that embeds risk management as foundational to how business is done.
  • Be able to influence and provide direct input into any risk-based decision making activities within the various functions in the 1st and 2nd line of defence; through participation in all relevant meetings / working committees where Risk Management input or sign-off is required.
  • Be a part of a professional, effective and highly motivated team and work collaboratively with the business including other assurance functions.

 

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree in Risk Management, Statistics, Actuarial Science or related discipline
  • Preferably 5 or more years of experience in risk management / actuarial field
  • Ability to multi-task
  • Strong written and verbal communication
  • Strong analytical skills
