Full Stack Engineering Team Lead

Key Responsibilities

 

  • Owning the technology uplift representing architecture and technology chapters in crews and squad. 
  • Be a change agent and advocate for emerging Engineering best practices. 
  • Help the team understand and follow architectural design guardrails in partnership with the Architecture team.
  • Owning and developing solutions designs across technologies and crews/squads, including detailed interface contracts, sequence diagrams, other technical artefacts 
  • Accountable for delivering high-quality software solutions across technologies into production that deliver customer outcomes. 
  • Ensure the team builds & leverages automation effectively across our end-to-end delivery processes and the solutions offered to our business. 
  • Understand DevSecOps and roadmap to improve quality, speed & stability, including shift left and release automation. 
  • Ensure technical delivery aligns with architectural and chapter roadmap. 
  • Work with chapter leads to enforce best practices such as code reviews, unit testing, performance testing, security, and design patterns. 
  • Hands-on proof of concepts to ensure solution designs are ready for development


Important to your success

 

  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or related field. 
  • 5+ years of hands-on software development experience  
  • Experience leading teams 
  • Experience in multiple layers of the technology stack, including frontend, backend, infrastructure, cloud, databases 
  • Understanding of Security protocols and best practices for the development of secure software systems. 
  • Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically. 
  • Excellent communication & facilitation skills. 
  • Experience with cloud-based technology such as AWS, Docker or Kubernetes 
  • Experience with DevOps, Engineering practices, React, API REST framework, Cloud native 
  • Experience & knowledge about CI/CD pipelines & delivery 
  • Familiarity with insurance software or financial systems is a plus. 
  • JIRA and Confluence Proficiency is desirable. 
  • Experience of working in flat, adaptive and collaborative delivery environments i.e. an Agile environment
