Head of Total Rewards

Job Summary

 

Reporting to the Chief Human Resource Officer (CHRO), the Head of Total Rewards is responsible for developing and implementing Total Rewards strategies, benefits, and performance management initiatives that significantly contribute to the success of our business strategy. This role requires significant interfacing with global and regional teams, providing international exposure.

 

Key Accountabilities

 

  • Ensure our compensation framework is competitive and attractive, supporting strategic objectives and continuously adjusted to market developments.
  • Develop detailed analysis and recommends plan revisions and new plans consistent with total reward trends.
  • Ensures appropriate grade & compensation structure, provide analysis and recommendations, and advise on Performance Management & Compensation program design best practices to ensure alignment with the global framework.
  • Implement compensation policies and new tools to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and Zurich Group guidelines.
  • Lead the annual performance review cycle and compensation processes with HR Business Partner/s and provide expertise and guidance on compensation matters when required.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, business, senior leadership including the local board, and global/regional counterparts to drive alignment and support for Total Rewards initiatives.
  • Conduct regular market research and benchmarking to ensure our compensation and benefits packages remain competitive in the industry and various international markets.
  • Keep abreast of external pay trends, interpret and evaluate market trends to ensure competitive compensation packages and salary reviews, maintaining the balance between human capital budget and talent attraction and retention.
  • Promote, educate and communicate all core Reward principles and practices.
  • Ensure compliance with reward related legislative and regulatory requirements
  • Develop a comprehensive benefits package including flexible program and partnering with third-party providers, to support attraction and retention.

 

Job Qualifications

 

  • Bachelor’s degree or master’s degree preferably in Human Resources, Mathematics, Business, Economics, Statistics or a related field with ideally 10+ years of relevant experience.
  • Prior experience in developing compensation structure and deploying global programs.
  • Prior exposure in union college agreements is an added advantage.
  • Strategic and analytical thinking combined with pragmatism, diagnostic skills and hands-on implementation strength in complex Total Rewards topics.
  • High energy and initiative with the ability to proactively identify issues, develop solutions, and ensure precise implementations.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Experience in managing multiple tasks/projects within set timeframes.
  • Ability to lead and influence in a matrix environment.
  • Solid understanding of remuneration policy and processes, including benchmarking, job evaluation (Hay preferred), salary setting and management of incentive plans.
