New Business Projects & Products Specialist


Job Summary

Underwrites and analyzes new and existing life business within delegated authority levels to achieve business goala and maximize customer experience.

Job Qualifications

• Bachelors Degree and 3 or more years of experience in the Underwriting area

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

• Maintains external and/or internal distributor relationships by requesting the correct evidence, consistently making the right decision by sharing the rationale behind every decisions made.

• Contributes ideas and work for the development of new or enhanced propositions/procedures/philosophy, ensuring we charge the right premium for the associated risk.

• Works closely with distributors and other operational areas to support the overall achievement of the business plan, demonstrating knowledge in underwriting expertise, systems, procedures and processes.

• Provides technical underwriting support and guidance to customers and distributors. Consistenly provide excellent customer service.

• Completes a range of queries and referrals within agreed authority limits by measuring the exposure and analyzing the risk of each cases to maintain underwriting standards.

• Completes assignments within delegated authority.

• Handles a range of analysis and advise to support the development of effective local and central governance processes and practices.

• Identify and comply with the main principles relevant to legal and regulatory controls that govern standard Life Underwriting work practices



Business Accountabilities

• Provide recommendations and commentary to faclitate underwriting decision-making by collecting data from well established sources and analysis.

• Identify opportunities for improvement by monitoring underwriting business processes.

• Provides detailed procedural advise to producers and employees to ensure that internal standards are adhered to.

• Review and analyze customer service levels using standard reporting tools and highlight discrepancies to more senior colleagues.

• Resolve operational day-to-day problems referred from other functions of the business; ensuring an efficient and high-quality service is extended to all distributors and customers.
