Property SME Underwriter

Job Summary

An experienced underwriter with strong Property & Miscellaneous UW skills and excellent knowledge on Malaysian Fire Tariff. Will have major role in managing SME Underwriting portfolio, handling referral cases in SME, provide support to Lines of Business in building UW Strategy and Guidelines for efficient execution in SME segment.

Job Accountabilities - Key Accountabilities

• Assessing the risk in adherence with underwriting appetite and balanced with sound business opportunity
• Quote and set coverage, negotiate terms and conditions
• Service accounts, handle declination/cancellation
• Provide technical expertise for short-medium term, defined scope projects including product development
• Identify and comply with the main principles relevant to legal and regulatory controls that govern standard work practices
• Monitor underwriting process in order to identify opportunities for improvement

Additonal Skills Required

• Good command and sound decision making process
• Effective team player and reliable individual contributor
• Computer literate
• Persuasive and able to collaborate / start collaboration with other Department

Job Qualification

• Bachelor Degree with at least 3 years experience in Fire/Property Underwriting in Malaysia.
• Excellent knowledge in Malaysia Fire Tariff
• Have experience in the system setting, maintenance, and product development.
