Senior Business Analyst

Purpose

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Business Analyst / Senior Business Analyst to join our team in a junior managerial / managerial position. The candidate will serve the needs of the Underwriting (UW) Division and have opportunity to propose/implement solutions for the efficiency of the Underwriting Division or the company as a whole.

The ideal candidate must have a proven track record in business analyst responsibilities, operational excellence, and project management, with a strong focus on delivering exceptional results.

 

Key Accountabilities

  • Leads the project resource planning, design, and implementation of business requirements and system modifications in projects/ initiatives.
  • Leads and draw up the business requirements gathering (BR Document) with relevant stakeholders. Analyse, document and reviews business processes requirements with product owners
  • Communicate project deliveries with key stakeholders on a regular basis
  • Lead creation and review of test case scenarios with product owners and system analysts to be used in testing, ensuring such requirements are incorporated
  • Coordinates and manages business analyst tasks within projects, offering guidance and support. This may involve planning, allocating, and monitoring the work of other business analysts for a Senior BA role.
  • Pre and post-delivery quality control to ensure higher benchmarks of project delivery are achieved for the division
  • Overall project management responsibilities in project delivery such as project and resource planning for overall view to management team
  • Adapts and applies different delivery methodologies including Agile, Waterfall, and Lean / Six Sigma.

 

Education and Experience

Required

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration / business analytics / Information Technology / Computer Science / Data analytics.
  • B4 to 5 or more years of experience in a business analyst role, process improvement, data analyst or similar capacity
  • Proven experience in relationship management, business analysis, process improvement, and project management within a corporate environment
  • Experience working in business processes and re-engineering including simplification, digitalization, and automation implementations
  • Experience in new product and new distribution channel implementation
  • Proficiency in business process modeling, analysis tools, and methodologies.
  • Delivered projects using methodologies such as Agile and Waterfall.

Preferred:

  • Good understanding / working experience in computer programming concepts
  • A team player with a good cultural fit to Zurich 
  • Good understanding of intelligent automation technologies and capabilities
  • General insurance or CX/UI/UX domain capabilities
  • Yellow Belt / Green Belt Lean Six Sigma, PMP certification

  • Possesses excellent analytical skills that enables identification of root causes, assessment of opportunities, and driving of effective solutions
  • Highly self-motivated with a strong sense of accountability and attention to detail
  • Demonstrates flexibility as needed, takes the lead on initiatives, and shows ownership and accountability
  • Capable of quickly adapting to new methodologies, working under tight deadlines and stressful conditions
  • Possesses advanced investigative, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
  • Able to set team and individual goals, manage multiple tasks, clients, and projects simultaneously while appropriately balancing priorities, deadlines, and deliverables
  • Possesses the ability to integrate customer experience into business process development and identify opportunities.
  • Customer journey mapping or low/high fidelity prototyping skills is an added advantage.
